NBC & TW to Apple, we're sticking with Flash

now it is the ny post.. which is only slightly more credible than the national enquirer, but it seems not everyone is jumping off the flash train just yet. good move or bad move, only time will tell.

nbc has flip-flopped on similar decisions before.. don't know time warner's history. could end up costing them in the future, or costing apple users. or they could just develop an app to pull down their content and skip the web interface entirely, like abc.

Good example of why I currently need/want Flash in a tablet.

I couldn't care less about Flash's survival etc. But as long as it's being used so much, I need it available in any device I'm going to do a lot of web browsing on.

Isn't CNN part of Time Warner? If I remember right, I was able to view a CNN video on iPad. I'm not a big consumer of Flash even on PC, though, so I'm not missing it. If Flash were important to me, I wouldn't have gone with an iPad.

Yeah as Scott said, CNN is part of Turner.

Their site and ESPN.com pop up a different video format on the iPad so the videos will play. Still Flash (at least ESPN is) when viewing on a PC.

Interesting. Guess it's up to the individual sites then rather than TW as a whole--unless they go crazy and take away the non-flash videos on CNN.com.

National Geographic isn't on board with us either. I just tried tp view their magazine site and got this Keeo Out sign:

Aw hell, it didn't show. Take your own self over to NG and see for yourself. I've been displeased with them ever since ending my subscription a couple of years ago. They don't have any plans for things such as large print editions or anything like that. Now they hate ipad.

Not sure whether you want to buy the Zinio version, but Nat Geo is gorgeous on it. It was kinda slow when I tried it, though.

I don't know when you last tried it, but a recent update to the Zinio reader made page turns much faster.
