Here also one of them is making feeding noises and rattling the cage. I know. She will be happy. Frozen dinner. The small one is on rice and carrots and still napping. I have my diet. I can fool around a little more. Bon Apetit |

And Beppe, be careful, don't overdo the diet: it looks like you're disappearing |

fruit is beginning to set on one of my hanging tomato plants!!!! all the others have a lot of blossoms. the radishes seem to have awakened while I was gone!!! I basically need to eat at least 5 radishes a day for the forseeable future to keep up with them! most of my lemon cucumbers have been destroyed as well as all of the pumpkins. I will have to replace all of them. all of the beans are gone as well, but the peas are doing well! some of my chilies are thriving and others have checked out. the lettuces (I have a variety) are just now appearing. none of the corn seems to have made it either a bunch of other stuff is peeking through and patience... well it's a bitch! |

I planted six strawberry plants this season. Now I have ten and more on the way, but no abundance of strawberries yet.

Picking about two grape tomatoes per day. Got the first two cucumbers this morning. They are short, squat things, but they are cucumbers!!! I'm having to hand pollinate the things--no bees! I see one or two bees now and then, but not enough. I'm hopeful that once the cantaloupe and watermelon plants start flowering it will attract the bees...

The true Acapulco Gold. Be careful when you cure it, old rascal. Everything is out: peonies, (white and pink), pale blue iris, dark red rhododendron and daily lilies are catching up. The fence (pyracantha) is all, really all covered in white. Seville roses are in full blast (just 3 bushes) and two other roses (one white and one cream). |
