In the poem, he's referring to driving kids all over the place -- being their own cheap taxi!

I'm coming to the "ME" stage of life too. Liked this poem!

I was careful not to write me/he/son etc in this, in order to make it work for anyone .....

Just revised this one a bit today.

Winter Thief

That night she stole the moon
and hid it beneath her skirts.
As she looked up her eyes pierced mine.
She flashed that seductive smile
and vanished into the cold dark wind.

Something I came up with it. I didn't know how to format it so i apologize. Please comment.

The Invisible Ghost

Every since I was a little kid no one has ever paid attention to me.

My drunken parent’s barely acknowledged me and my siblings acted as if I was a stranger to them.

I thought at school I would at least find some friends who would give their time to me but even the nerds ignored my existence.

Maybe the teachers and councilors at school would help me and care for me? But no, they too treated me as if I was invisible, not even asking me how I felt or anything that they were paid to ask.

Finally I had had enough and one night while my parents were passed out on the couch I snuck into my dad’s sock drawer.

I took out his colt and headed to my closet. Holding the gun to my head I debated over whether I should live or die.

Finally knowing that I no longer wanted to live I pulled the trigger, but to only discover that I was already dead.

Yes, one does.

BTW I change one word....."pierced eyes" is a bad cliche that slipped in...

It could be that barley may equate to wine or whisky !
