Well, I manually installed 2.3.3 some time ago, and I am still waiting. Luckily, my blackberry charger works on my kindle, so I charge it every day in the office (after charging my blackberry, of course)

I think what Amazon are doing with this update is totally lousy customer service. I posted this a couple of weeks ago and got some good but also some nasty replies (in the Amazon forum) I am wondering now if those nasty ones just might have changed their minds.

In a few minutes we'll be into the last third of June. Still no update here!

The timezone I'm in is Eastern Standard Timewarp. The update hasn't reached my neck of the woods yet, but Amazon did say that the broad release would be in late May, so there's still plenty of time left (except, of course, in my Fantasyland, where it's June already!). the only slight frustration I have with 2.5 is the folder option doesn't seem to work for the calibre material. So I put pretty much all the books in folders...so anything outside of it is calibre...so I get maybe everything crammed to 1 1/2 screens. |

I have the update on one Kindle and not on the other (belonging to my wife). Got "my" update over a week ago. The collections/folders feature is nice. Took me a while to compile 'em but it's easy to setup and add/delete to and from. I did notice that adding a book from Calibre or deleting a book from the Kindle seems to take longer but not inordinately so. (Sorry I have no access to the bin or I'd have installed it on my wife's Kindle.) |

Note: It tooks about 2 minutes per book before I removed all of the directories in 'documents' that Calibre created, so I have reconfigured Calibre to send books directly to 'documents' and not create author directories. Evidently, the new firmware is not very efficient in navigating directory trees.

I created 17 folders for various genres or lists but whatever I bring over from Calibre just goes on to page 2 (outside of any of my new folders) and awaits assignation. 30 seconds seems about right. Maybe a little less. Was quicker in the past (for sure).
