On the other hand if the red button is on the network, that means that when it comes back up we can access it and use it to go back and change the winner list to our liking.

In fact, what if the list has already been posted, someone didn't like it and used the red button to go back in time to before it was posted and disrupt the network connection so the list could not be posted until they found a way to alter it. The evil mastermind could, at this very moment (or that very moment), be skipping through time sowing mayhem.

What if someone voted for one that was totally irrelevant, went back in time just now and changed who the killer was? Seems like there are quite a few candidates that only got one vote...

The real mystery here is to figure out what the mystery is in the first place it seems..
