Milrose Munce and the Den of Professional Help, by Douglas Anthony Cooper, is free in both the Sony and Kindle stores, for those who missed it when it was a penny a couple of weeks ago. Aimed at young readers (age 9-12), this one has only five-star reviews at Amazon. This one has been selling like hotcakes in the Kindle store (the author told me he has picked up a 100K+ readers in the last few weeks, after it first posted at a penny in the Kindle store). Hardcopies are sold out and have went from low prices to $50 to now over $130 in the same time period.

No one except Milrose Munce knows that ghosts of former students live in his school. Not only is Milrose aware of these ghouls – he’s on a first-name basis with all of them. Of course, some are more likeable than others: the third floor is the home to nearly all of his good friends. Most of them – like Imploded Ig, Deeply Damaged Dave, and Toasted Theresa – were the victims of science experiments gone wrong though they do manage to maintain a sense of humour about their demise. once again... obtaining the free books is a full contact sport and you WILL get dirty! some of these you have to jump on IMMEDIATELY! I got both of them. they were free even if for a little while. in fact, I am reading the killing room right now

Looks like the free version has been both repriced and modified to non-US only (it would be $12.99 if it were available). The original version, however, is still there, but no longer free. A lot like the Sidney Sheldon that was free at Kobo only a few days ago (but I believe it's still free at B&N, it just never hit Kindle).

The list is updated continuously, but NOT in the first message of this thread any longer. You must check the NEW messages on a regular basis and double check any book's price before buying, as prices can (and often do) change hourly.
