Sweet! My 9-year old daughter and I had fun with this one. We poured over all the evidence this afternoon, and came to the conclusion it was MTH! Except our reasoning was a little different... Here's what we came up with...

He was busy dusting off the cases of the free ereaders at the time of the murder, according to PilotBob. MTH stated he would give a vague and misleading answer. When asked what he was doing at the time of the murder he stated, he was “moderating.” “There is a new thread on a new reader that has been getting heated and I was keeping tack of possible trolls.” My daughter and I believe the thread was placed there by Nate the Grate, as he was putting string on everything. The new reader was one of the prizes on the wall. Pshrynk was going to steal the reader, and mtravellerh clubbed him with the crowbar to protect it, in essence, he was moderating, or protecting the new ereader.

This was fun!

With all the misdirection flying around, I had another couple of suspects, even though about him having some help, but in the end I decided to keep faith in the KISS principle as MTH was the less misdirecting culprit

Now let's hope I go lucky in the draw!

Congrats to you both! My family tried to help me, but they were just as wrong as I was. My son said that pshrink tripped on one of the threads left behind by Nate and scattered by Verancat. When he tripped, he accidentally hit the Red Button and crushed himself in the walls. My wife said she believed Zelda did it. When I asked why, she said, "I just do." In the end, their last-minute attempts to solve the case were as effective as my days of pouring over every nuance of every word in the story.

It was fun, though. Congrats to pshrink for a captivating tale.

Thanks! And yes, this was fun! I probably wouldn't have even attempted it, but this afternoon I decided it would be fun to try with my daughter. I'm never very good at mysteries (I enjoy reading Sherlock Holmes, but I'm always in the dark until he gives the answer at the end ) but my daughter loves reading Nancy Drew books. We had fun going over the different clues and debating whodunnit. I doubt we'd win, but if we do, I'm tempted to give her the reader. She's an avid reader, and we try to encourage her to read in any way we can. By the way, I like your son's answer!
