Hi Donna - I think I'll keep my son since he is my only one and I'm kind of used to him. BUT I am willing to give away one cute lapdog to the next person who buys my ebook Healing Touch.

Oh - you may need to know he has bladder stones, cataracts, likes to pee behind chairs, couches, in closets..... on the bed, in his crate, and sometimes outside on the grass.

Takers?

Hi all!
I'm here to offer you my novel Future Useless for 50% off -until July 17, 2010. (That's at just $1.99) and this coupon code is exclusive to this thread because I like the idea so much.
Use coupon code: TQ95M at my site on smashwords.com.

FUTURE USELESS
Carl Gussman died in 1997 and chose to freeze himself to be revived later when science could accomplish that task. The problem is that Carl lay forgotten and unwanted. In 2976 Carl was thawed out, but found freezer-burn had ruined his memories. In a future where Carl found himself useless, he did what no one expected-

He disappeared ...

until now.

If you aren't sure about it, you can check out a fre sample of 50% of the book first to see if you want to finish it.

Also, while you are there, you can see my wife's video "test" for a trailer. She's still mad at me for posting it up there but she's so funny I couldn't resist.
Thanks all for hosting this thread and enjoy.

W. A.

I'm happy to let readers know that my traditionally published (Echelon Press) mystery/suspense series is available on Kindle at $2.99 a book. The series has had terrific feedback from reviewers and readers. Mystery Scene magazine calls my novels "deeply layered" and "thrilling." THE SEX CLUB and SECRETS TO DIE FOR are available now, THRILLED TO DEATH will be published in August, and two more will be out next year.

I see this is only your 4th post, so I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as you join in on the conversations here at MobileRead.

Based on your titles, your books sound exactly like the kind of mysteries I like to read. I'm looking forward to giving one of them a try.

HAVE FUN!

New review of Awakening. Still 99 cents through May.

--

Reviewed by Charline Ratcliff for RebeccasReads, May 2010

So, I was perusing a list of books needing to be reviewed when the words “Dead Forever: Awakening” caught my eye. Interesting title. This of course prompted me to visit Amazon’s website in order to find out a little more about the book. The words “Imagine a world where death is merely an inconvenience” jumped off the proverbial page at me and I found myself immediately intrigued by the concept. Who wouldn’t want to live forever? Even if “living forever” ultimately meant living a full life, experiencing a real death and then finding oneself inhabiting a new body. Hmmm…

The premise of “Dead Forever: Awakening” is that once you die you will resume living while still retaining all of your memories, all of your likes and dislikes and all of your various skills and talents. How’s that for having your cake and eating it too? Well, therein lies the catch because immortality comes with a very high price. People now answer to a “master” and things like individuality, creativity and freedom to think for yourself are no longer allowed. Of course there are those who find themselves unable to conform to these rigid rules and they refuse to accept this life. Since no one can really “die forever” the masters devise a clever solution. Permanent amnesia. How can a person fight if they can’t remember what they are fighting for? Yup, I decided I definitely needed to read the book so I could find out what happens.

For the most part I was pretty happy with “Dead Forever: Awakening.” The author, William Campbell, has an easy to follow writing style. His words flow well; his story is descriptive but not boring and each character has a unique personality and Campbell does a great job of bringing them to life. However, there were times when a scene from the book would remind me of a scene from “The Matrix.” Consequently I became distracted by these similarities which unfortunately took some of the enjoyment out of the read for me.

In summary I give “Dead Forever: Awakening” a solid four star rating and I would recommend it for readers of all ages. I hope Campbell keeps up the great writing and I look forward to reading more of his works in the future.

Alright, so i start reading before bed on a Saturday, and i am so hot to read the rest that i skip my comics, news, and post secret just to see what happens. Carl is a fully realized character, he is grumpy, smart, and always thinking. I liked all of the characters, even the Dr. The ideas presented in the book are plausible, and this adds an edge to the story. I will be keeping this story, to read again and again. I am looking forward to what happens next! I hope this story finds its way to the right desk, i would love to see it published.

And by the way, WAPatterson and pdurrant, you can always "conveniently forget some trivial detail," one that will allow you to post a second time.

In a Mystery, for example, the author could write some detail such as this:

"Oh, I almost forgot! If you're a lazy Reader (and who isn't*), I'll give you a clue and tell you that the BUTLER MURDERED OLD MAN SOAMES IN HIS NEGLIGEE.**

* It's usually good practice to tell a reader something that she (he) is not. For example:
You're NOT a mass murderer!
You're NOT a fairy princess!
You're NOT a crooked politician, George!
You're no JFK, and you never will be!

**
Why the Butler was wearing Old Man Soames negligee lies at the heart of the story, in addition to the ridicule that Old Man Soames suffered when he went into town wearing a negligee, high heels, a girdle, and very glossy red lipstick.

See how easy that is? I hope this helped all Indie Authors struggling with a way to advertise their Special EBook.

I'm still a newbie at MR, so please be gentle with me.

The Merry-Go-Round is a fun, light beach read that's a deal at $1.99. The book is available in the Amazon Kindle Store http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZNJL78 and at Smashwords http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/9466.

About the book:
When Lauren goes to court it's usually to defend a client, but now she's divorcing the man whose mistakes have cost her far too much. Little does she know that she'll be awarded a rundown merry-go-round. Maybe restoring the circus menagerie will bring her some normalcy. Or will it spin her in circles and teach her a few lessons before bringing her back to where she started? One thing is certain; Lauren will discover that, when she's willing to open her heart to love and forgiveness, life never fails to offer a wild ride.

Now I've posted about my book, I'm going to go read some threads and get to know this place a little better!

Thank you! And seeing which thread were in, I think I must mention that Kai Lung Raises His Voice is available in Hardback, Paperback, Kindle/Mobipocket and ePub.

The ebooks are, of course, DRM-free, and have a bonus story – a shorter version of one of the eleven stories included in the paper versions.

And thank you again for the kind words about the cover. My only problem now is finding another SIX cover pictures equally as nice for the rest of Ernest Bramah's chinoiserie books, which I'll be republishing over the next year.

Yes - that's right! All of the Kai Lung books – The Wallet of Kai Lung, Kai Lung's Golden Hours, Kai Lung Unrolls his Mat and Kai Lung Beneath the Mulberry Tree – along with The Moon of Much Gladness and The Mirror of Kong Ho will be back in print in paperback, hardback and in well-proofed and formated ebook form soon! I signed the contract for the books just last week.

Time after time I hear from readers about how they have enjoyed the characters in Boomerang. Everyone has their own favorites, whether it is Ted, the former NBA power forward turned jazz guitarist, or Doreen Lush, the very loud Australian woman who tries to bully her way through life, or even Leslie, the albino assassin who for the first time in his life is running into a bit more resistance than he bargained for. Today, in the Random Chapter section of Boomerang's Official Web Page, we are featuring Bethie, the clothing optional ex-Onion Festival Queen. Even when she's working on her all-over tan, you get the feeling that this young lady may not be showing us everything. Not just yet.

Random Chapter from Boomerang

There you go, shameless pandering to the soft porn crowd.

OOPS!

I forgot some info and made the mistake of editing my other post so I'll just repost it here at the end of the thread to make it easier for everyone to find!
I forgot to tell you genteel readers that this book contains some bad language! Approximately 3 bad words at my last count - so be warned! Some of you with sensativity to such things might be shocked when an alien cusses! - But then again, considering the situation when it happens I am not sure it was the alien, the Ship, or one of the little pocket-nano's that cusses and so it remains unclear. Read for yourself and see if you can figure it out! - But be warned! I take no responsibility for fits of fainting when you read it!
