I gave up on the mystery myself, I'm no good at figuring out whodunnit, in fact I usually I have trouble remembering who was killed (but how could I forget pshrynk, sniff). well i hope you're reading the french story anyway ! you never know, maybe you'll find a clue... and as ravenne said, you can always guess.

Yes, all twenty fingers... er, I mean ten. I'm thankful that the thumb that does the swiping on my Sony 700 is unharmed and that it is so easy to read on it with one hand! Thankful also that my preferred method of typing is "hunt & peck", so I don't need the injured finger to post on MR.
(When the doctor told me to keep it elevated, I was afraid people would think I was giving them an obscene gesture! )

Thanks for everyone's sympathies! It still throbs (just like in the cartoons) after the Tylenol wears off or if I catch it on something-- ouch OUCH OUCH!
But I'll live, even if I don't get a Pocketbook 360 out of this ordeal! (Persistant, aren't I?!)

Love this site particularly for all the info on readers, well done to all and keep up the good work.

Not sure about the competitions though as I just don't qualify to enter.

Don't have a reader yet so can't enter the iPad comp' not that I'm really interested in the iPad, it's a real e-book reader I want. (If you lived in Oz you would understand how difficult they are to acquire.)

Thought the Spring Contest would be right up my street and an opportunity too good to miss. Well bombed out again didn't I. Just too stupid (me that is), it's way too deep for me I'm afraid but then I guess you could understand that as I do live in the wonderful world of Oz.

I even read the french version (I don't know french) and it didn't help so gave up and went back to some more sour grapes (a good bottom shelf Merlot) which didn't help either.

No doubt the author is a champion Trivial Pursuit player!!!

Guess I'll just have to buy a reader (when I can find the one I want at something less than robbery price).

Anyway good luck to all those with more advanced cerebral trimmings.

In the German dicussion thread one of the moderators (ravenne, I think?!) stated that there wouldn't be any clues that were different between the versions which mattered to solving the case. So you should be able to solve it with just the English version.

Well my answer is about 73% guess and 27% what I hope is logic and clever deductive reasoning.

I'm crossing all my fingers that luck comes through for me cause I'm not at all confident on my clever deductive reasoning! hehe
