Update

A month ago I checked out shops for sightings of Ark.

Yesterday I went into Liverpool Target again. A month ago they had a dozen copies and yesterday only 3. So it looks like it's been selling. And Liverpool is an outer SW suburb - not the heights of Sydney culture.

Today The Ark is now available as an ebook again on Kindle, Nook, and I'm guessing the iBook store (although I can't check). I don't know what other formats it might be available for. Thanks to everyone who took a chance on me and read my books last year.

One cool thing is that I now have an ad on the front page of the online book section of the NY Times. I never would have guessed I'd be here this time last year.

Very nice Boyd. When I checked it was a large (across the top) banner ad and a large right side ad.

It's probably still super exciting to see everything happening. When do you get to start seeing your sales states?

Thanks, Dreams and Bob! Like most authors, the only way I have to gauge how things are going in real time is by looking at my Amazon rankings and reviews, but I should get some info from my publisher next week. I have one word for tonight: Party!

Congrats on your book being on the shelves! According to the Borders site, my local Borders store doesn't have it (maybe they sold out!), but the one near work has it in stock. The trick is finding it in the stores.

I liked your reasons for publishing on the Kindle rather than in print. I never thought of ISBNs in that way, but you had a great point.

Thanks, Critteranne! It should be on the shelves soon. I drove around yesterday to a few local stores, and some of them hadn't taken it out of the shipping box yet.

Unfortunately I've never been able to see my book on the self at a book store. Would have been nice.

Boyd, I saw only 2 copies of the Hardback book at a Barnes and Noble book store, but would like to purchase a couple of copies of the MMPB for friends.

Do you know when the MMPB will be released?

Maybe that means all the rest at B&N were sold!

The paperback of The Ark doesn't come out until Jan 25, 2011.

Any chance we could get the eBook at the price it will drop to when the MMPB comes out? Most of us don't buy hardcovers and all that will happen is we'll have to wait.

Thanks, JS! The price is set by my publisher, so I have no control over it. My guess is that it won't come down until the paperback comes out in January, but I hope you check it out then.

I am pleased to report that one of my local Borders has one less copy of your book on the shelves.

And yes, they do have it on the shelves, facing out and everything! I had a Borders coupon burning a hole in my pocket.

I haz book. I no longer haz Borderz coupon.
