You are ready to join the Society of Enemies of Mothers (SEM) of which I am chairman (local chapter) but with national and international ambitions and connections.
Next time close her in a corner with the help of a chair, crack the whip and whisper to her:
I am in charge here, woman.

You will see.

Pobrecito, mi pobrecito. Que malo este hombre, muy malo.

Forget the pizzas, just eat plenty of green apples and, if you want to be more beautiful, brush yourself with tarragon, all over.

Dialog can be a problem even if the book isn't non-limear in structure. Go ahead, keep track of who is talking...

But the media can make a difference, and so can cultural norms. I read a piece a while back about the experience of a TV outfit in South Africa crafting content intended for the native audience, who discovered that various things weren't universal. For instance, if a character left a place via a door, they couldn't just jump cut to the same character coming into another place through a different door. They had to explicitly depict the intervening travel, or the audience didn't get it. Western audiences, raised in film and TV, are familiar with the conventions and automatically interpolate stuff not explicitly depicted because they know it had to happen. The native SA audience was a different matter.

Isn't life strange...

I last worked professionally 2 years ago - (minus 7 days). During that time period. I had one face to face interview and two long distance phone interviews. No results.

I shipped out around 600 resumes. Towards the end, friends looked funny at me because I couldn't get a job.

2 1/2 weeks ago, I got submitted to a job for with a former boss, who hadn't hired a contractor in over 3 years. Wham, Bam, I got a job with good pay. (I start Monday...)

Since then I have been contacted by 5 recruiters, and a company from my former hometown just requested an interview, tomorrow at 9:30 AM local.

Crazy. (My unemployment ran out in April. Undoubtable some Wall Street Journal type would say I didn't get serious until my unemployment ran out, when nothing on my part changed in 2 years.)

This isn't a rant, I just shaking my head. How could I be so worthless 2 months ago and so in demand now....

Did you see the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy?

It is an absolute masterpiece (7.0 on IMDB). Your point is quite well illustrated in a very light heart. It tells about the encounter of a Bushman with a Coke bottle and all that follows. Get plenty of tissues because you will laugh to exhaustion.

Won the Montréal World Film Festival.

You said it, life is strange... and sometimes even stranger. This happening to you is a gift, a gift you should cherish. But you know that... Congratulation and hopes that it's durable, two years is a long time between jobs.

What line of work are you performing in?

Google's right. Ratte is the female rat. Rate with one T is the spleen.
