My blog is more for fun. With the website and Facebook and all the myriad places where I can post official news, I use the blog to just be silly and let the readers see that authors are indeed eccentric Lately, I've taken to posting pictures of myself as an 'extra' on the set of my books. I'm really a goof. http://maureenamiller.blogspot.com/ |

I think Ma Miller has the right idea for a blog. That's mostly what I intend to use mine for. Hell, I wrote a blog about how "rewrites suck" =)

Mentioned earlier that I try to stick all kinds of topic-specific news on my own blog. Often, I pick up ideas from MR, as I did half an hour ago -- here's what we think about DRM: http://bewritebooks.blogspot.com/

I have only just started my blog and I write about a number of diferent topics, posting previously published articles and posts about my travels, with photos. I am also planning to do reviews of books I have read and liked. I have found that people who like my writing read my blog too. I sometimes write about my experiences as a writer ('My e-book Experience', for example) but I try not to rant or complain. My blog is getting an increasing number of views and I think it's because of the variety of topics. I try to have something new about once a week or so. http://susannefromsweden.wordpress.com/ |

I will also ask a set of friends to contribute. The first one will be my cover artist who will explain how he designed my cover, and why it looks the way it does.

My blog is for anything related to my writing. At first it was mainly for short stories that I had no commercial plans for so people could get a free taste of my reading. Better to be available for free than just sitting around my hard drive collecting digital dust. I even wrote a few shorts specifically for the blog. More recently it has been devoted to various bits of news concerning my novels on Smashwords/Amazon as well as my occasional attempts at artwork. I draw my own book covers (unprofessional, I know ) and will usually post the results. Since it'll be months before my next book is ready to go online I also try to post regular progress reports and general thoughts on my writing process. http://sdbest.blogspot.com Last edited by Greenkeeper; 05-18-2010 at 10:53 PM. |

I post a blog that is (mostly) devoted to history. I enjoy putting together little blurbs of history, but lately I've been posting brief samples of a rough draft of a book I'm writing. I wish I could write every day but it's hard to stay motivated. Writing historical articles takes more time than essays or updates because of the research that needs to go into things. I'm also nervous about posting things that I may someday want to use in future works, am I just being paranoid? At any rate, I have a hard time getting page hits. I usually average 1 every other day. Except on days when I post a new blog entry and I put the link up on my facebook. So I do get the occasional google search leading to my blog but I'm really not marketing it correctly. I'd love to have more page views, though, and especially feedback. Even if it's negative I love getting feedback! http://bullmule.wordpress.com/ |

Most of my blog posts are about writing, editors, publishers with an occasional post about something personal. I usually scan many sites and if something looks interesting, I will quote the source adding some of the article on the post and then putting a link where you can read the full article. I also post updates for my books, sometimes a good joke or post a short story. You can find it here: http://www.twoendsofthepen.blogspot.com/

I just started a blog. Today was my third post in fact. My purpose is to give anyone who is curious some insight as to what it's like to indie publish for someone who is a "pure indie," which is the term I'm using for someone like me who was never traditionally published. Most of the information about indie publishing I've gleaned so far has come from what I call "mixed indies," or in other words people who HAVE been published traditionally in the past or even still are currently. http://thepureindie.wordpress.com/ |

I'm running a series of author interviews over at my blog http://twoendsofthepen.blogspot.com So far interviews are posted for David McAfee, Nick Spaulding, Maureen Miller and Michaelbrent Collings. Some of these interviews are hysterical so if you're looking for a chuckle, head on over. Thanks, Deb |
