mmmm, dhal !! maybe i'll make that for dinner tonight. a friend of mine makes the best dhal ever, and she chops up tomatoes, onions and cucumbers to make a little salad which she serves on top of the lentils. my mouth is watering just thinking about it !

you will be happy to know that the asparagus risotto was absolutely delicious. the rice was creamy, the asparagus was tender and fresh and cooked just enough but not too much, and it was served with giant slivers of parmesan scattered on the top which melted into the rice and sent their perfume through every mouthful. i'll definitely have to go back there again, it's worth it !

just thinking about it is making me hungry, actually.

(because i don't want to make you too frustrated on your diet, i won't tell you about the tiramisu we had for dessert, i'll just say it made me miss my old italian neighbor, who moved back to florence about 12 or 15 years ago...)
