I know! It is crazy that the app doesn't let you use the magical pinch-zoom on it's books. It would make Amazon the perfect reading app if I could make font a lot larger. There is a trick to enlarge things on iPad, with 2taps using 3fingers, the whole screen enlarges. Not enough for my blind @ss, but it helps with menus and such.

I guess that I forgot them because I got them right before the. Cinco de Mayo party. My Ipad was a big hit also. It got passed all around, and they turned several of the games into team sports. A niece and nephew got the apps on their iPhones, and it was the hit of the party.
Whatever you do DON'T BUY ZOMBIE SMASH if you ever want to read a book again...sigh...I have zombie smashing wrist now. Let me know how you like the two Lancaster's you got, those are the two I haven't read. Thought Bitter is the New Black was the best of the ones I read but the other two were good too. I'll be interested to hear your reaction on reading her since I was a little surprised to find that Laurie Notaro and Jen Lancaster were apparently separated at birth, their lives and world views are eerily similar. Like Richard Bachman and Stephen King

True, both are saying what I'm only thinking. "bittrt" wasn't at iBooks, just those two. I think. iBooks is sort of confusing and user unfriendly.

Friend of mine has both an iPad and Kindle. He was prepared to dislike reading on the iPad--but he has found he really likes it. He said it's a better e-reader than he imagined and he doesn't mind the backlight at all--except in bright sunlight. But for reading in bed and general--he says it definitely competes with Kindle.

Well, I bought The Road but I'm not reading it yet. I'm reading The Prisoner of Zenda for now. Good comfort reading when you've got a cold and it's raining outside

I'm reading Christine Falls (Benjamin Black) - I'm a sucker for dark Irish mysteries - bit of a slow pace but intriguing so far.

I think this was my first "steampunk" read, and I loved the world Wesley Allison (HistoryWes on MR) created. It was intriguing how past, future, and magic is all one in the world. Brechalon is a short novella prequel to the first novel, The Voyage of the Minotaur, and I'm anxious to begin book one.

I'm on Part Two of The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne, this month's book club book. It was a bit slow in the beginning until I realized that it was written in the late 1800's (before TV) and the long, detailed descriptions were probably used to "paint" a picture for readers of the era.

I've also begun, Future Diary by Sakae Esuno ( a manga pbook) that was an impulse buy when I was purchasing a Mother's Day gift for my mom.

Hmm...gotta pass this one on. If you're a sci-fi lover, 'End Of Eternity' by Isaac Asimov is a must read. I flew through it, wanting more. Generally I am eclectic in reading choices, but I moved onto another sci-fi today after finishing the Asimov as mentioned above. Time's Eye by Arthur C. Clarke is my new read.

Maybe I'll get back to some good old, down to earth stuff after this.....then again..maybe I won't!

You are best buying ePub elsewhere and stripping the DRM. Please do that instead of giving Apple any money for eBooks bought via iBooks. I want Apple's selling eBooks to tank big time.

I just finished listening to this (The Giver by Lois Lowry) on my work commute. I had read it when my son did in elementary school, and found I love it just as much now. (I love libraries! )
