I had really bad bronchitis and kept going on sick call. they only gave me robitussin which is NOT effective against that! when I passed out in the mess hall and cut my leg wide open and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance they said "oh gee! she's really sick!" at the hospital they discovered it had moved into pnuemonia. I was in the hospital for 10 days, coincidentally enough during a measles outbreak and that's the ward I ended up on. fun times were NOT had by all!
they would make me sit in the corridor dinking ice water until my temp came down. all I wanted to do was sleep and I fell asleep in the chair a lot. I guess that was around the time that the kinder gentler Army was coming into being.

Been reading the Jules Verne Book Club selection. The sailor (Pencroft) keeps droning on about the lack of tobacco on the island. I broke down and fired up my first cigarette since buying the Nook. Now it's back on the wagon for me, but damn, that cigarette tasted good!

dont even talk about temptation. Its been 3 years 5 months and 17 days since my last confession(ahem durry) - Oh and about 10 kilos. 5 of those I didn't need to gain.

Its a pity it was so good. That would stuff it for me. The last one I smelled made me a bit ill. So I hold onto that. and have a nice glass of Shiraz instead.

I had over 3 years clean when I started up again. Whole family smoked. They all quit about a year ago. Now I do it just to get even!

I quit smoking 3 weeks before I blew my knee out. there was a pack of smokes on the console of the vehicle I was picked up from the emergency room in... sooooo tempting!!! and I know about the added fluffiness! plus idleness due to the injury

When Wife was pregnant of SmallDaughter she cut it down to 4-5 per day. We had the cars steam cleaned (for a mere 150 euro each), whole house interior repainted (in excess of 5000). It sure is an expensive habit.

Now we smoke only outside. Luckily in the Bel Paese they are not so bigot about the whole thing. I do miss that one after a meal at the restaurant, sipping a pousse-cafè ...
