Size matters 100% ... I have both Kindle 2 and DX and lucky me was able to pass the K2 to my wife
![]() I am using the K2 when i am traveling cause its much better when you are on the road but for reading the larger fonts, the less page turns and the better overview in newspapers and table of contens i love the kindle DX much more. I would say get yourself one asap ![]() |

The thing I like about the Kindle 2 (which I bought with the "standard" leather case) is that it's really very, very portable. It fits comfortably in a room safe when we travel; it's a very comfortable size to hold. At 8 x 5.5 inches, it's the size of sheet of standard paper folded in half. Isn't the DX significantly larger "footprint" than this? Apart from being twice as expensive? The main temptation would be to be able to download magazines ... but the non-US version is limited in content and you don't get the photos ....

Sorry for hijacking the thread but i would like to ask those of you who own a DX and a K2 a question. If you compare the navigation stick on both devices then i have the feeling there is a big difference between the K2 and the DX. My DX stick makes a noticeable "klick" while my K2 seems to move more "Loose". Does your K2 klick in the Same Way like your DX? I am asking myself if that is some support issue or not.

I sold my K2 shortly after buying my KDX last August. I generally prefer the larger screen of the KDX, and I have never really had much difficulty with holding it in one hand. Though I should mention that I am a big fellow and so it's not unusual for most of the things that I own to be larger!

We have both K2 and KDX in the family and I actually prefer to read on the DX. It's easier to carry around and just fits into my hand. The DX is as thin as the K2, but nowhere near the size of a paperback book any more and my reading habits just don't justify to use it. On the other hand, my girlfriend likes it more than I do, so we kind of unofficially swapped devices.

![]() Thats why i asked if somebody could confirm that both sticks in the K2 and on the DX do a noticeable *klick". My K2 doesn't do that and i am not really sure if it did in the beginning ![]() |

My Kindle DXi is my home reading device. Better in everything, specially PDF and manga/comic strips.
My 6" device, Cybook, is my portable reading device. It goes everywhere I go. I would say go ahead, both will complement each other very well. |

I got my wife a k2 for her b-day, and I got myself the DX as soon as I could pre-order. I wanted the PDF viewing, and bigger screen...

I have both the K2 and the DX and use them both. The K2 is perfect for bedtime reading and traveling and holds all my fiction. The DX is used for magazines & non-fiction and stays at home.
The larger screen on the DX is good for Readers Digest and sitting in a chair reading. It is a little heavy for reading while lying in bed. It took a bit to get used to the page turn buttons only being on one side but I hardly notice now. I use both readers about the same amount nowadays. ![]() C.P.T. |

If you read text books: 6" eReader is more light and is more comfortable.
If you read graphics, scanned books, magazines, comics or newspaperes; so 9.7" eReader will be really better. Last edited by meem; 08-19-2010 at 05:59 AM. |
