YouTube has taken down my favourite recording of the Monteverdi 1610 Vespers: Jean Tubéry conducting the La Fenice ensemble. I would cheerfully pay good money for a cd or dvd. In fact I would pay a lot of money. But it isn't available.

I'm very much hoping that someone releases it soon: it's the 400th anniversary of the Monteverdi, and the 20th anniversary of La Fenice.
Meanwhile, I'm listening to another version and it's just not as good.

It is such a coincidence that I have to tell you. Wednesday I got for 12.99 Euro L'orfeo in DVD. It's the 1977 Das Monteverdi-Ensemble des Opernhause Zurich directed by Nikolaus Harnoncourt. I have not looked at it yet.

Who goes onto ebay in the middle of the night and commits to buy a guitar for $1100? And then sends an email saying ooh sorry misunderstanding I can't pay for this. Bugga. Done at 10.30 last night, they musta been drinking. So of course I get charged the final value fee etc etc have to get the sale cancelled and relist the item. blah blah blah !

Thanks for listening I feel better now.

In the early days of ebay I bought an SG for about that money (though I'm sure it seemed more back then!). As far as I remember I paid by cheque, so had to wait for it to clear before the seller shipped the guitar. I did go through with it but it is quite possibly the scariest thing I've ever done.

The first time I did it I was scared. $300+ but we had PayPal by then. By now I have spent thousands$$$. My last purchase was my ereader because you can't get them in Oz.

I love being able to buy things from O/S.

The worry about this sale (non-sale) is that I had 10 watchers on it and I am worried that they think something is wrong with the guitar. One of them emailed me with an $800 offer.
