How is the Kindle app on the iPhone / iTouch? I use Stanza but Im considering buying a book from them. Is it better than Stanza by any chance?

Not at all. It's good to go, so to speak, but Stanza is in average a much better software. What bothers me most is that, unlike Stanza, it makes it hard to purchase content from the program itself. In the time I download 500 novels in Stanza I'll download 6 or 7 from Amazon's web page, which is where the Kindle app derives you.

That being said. I prefer the look and operation of Stanza on the iphone over Kindle. But Stanza is not coming to the iPad. So it is not an option there. The advantage of Kindle is it is available on so many platforms, and keeps them all in sync. |

Amazon bought Stanza a while back, they don't seem to want to kill it outright but there doesn't seem to be much new in the way of development for it either. If the Kindle app read in ePub files I'd be fine with it. I'm not very thrilled with iBooks, it's ok, but not great, readMe is ok, but not great either. The alternatives are farther down on my list. I'd love to see ePub support added to GoodReader, it the only app (IMHO) that is worth way more than the asking price of $1.

Makes sense. Kindle is an inferior app so if you cant beat them, buy them out. Question is, is there anyway to remove the DRM off a Kindle book so it can be read on Stanza? Kindle has its own format anyway right?

There is a way to strip it, but I do not believe we can't talk about it here. Once DRM free you could use a program like calibre to change its format.
