Thanks for the tip about sunflower seeds. I'll pick some up tomorrow. I don't eat squirrels! I like them. Only one ever comes onto my deck. It likes to tease my dog.

We had a pretty busy weekend. Our lot is really wide at the front (120' feet or so) and the front yard looks like a foot ball field, just flat and boring, so we put in an island feature Saturday. Had 5 yards or dirt delivered, got 112 wall stones (not for the island). We got the island put in, planted a newport plum tree, 2 azalea bushes, and 3 creeping phlox - we put flox in amongst some sandstone pieces we had from the excavation, so we have phlox in the rocks now In between the rain I got most of the first course of small retaining wall for a backyard butterfly and hummingbird garden put in - I'll finish that tonight. Then over the next few days I'll put in the wall/edging for the front yard beds as well. I'll get some pictures when the sun comes out again |

Madame Wisteria Glycin has the pleasure of inviting all of you for drinks, bacon, cheesecake and chocolate of different kinds. In case someone might be interested, after dark there are bats (let's say they are just bats) and other night creatures. The cemetery is well inside owling distance. |

I put out sunflower seeds on my deck as suggested. I was shocked to discover not one but two mated pairs of cardinals out there this morning!

At my parent's house there are bats under the roof... or something, we're not sure exactly where they live but in the summer, when we sit on the terrace around nightfall, it's fun to watch them come out and fly away one by one. | |
