I stopped by a Wal-Mart here in Knoxville, TN and they too had it listed at 148.00 not on sale.

I called several Wal-Mart stores in the Twin Cities, MN area. Some have the PRS-300 at list ($199.99) but at the Shakopee store it is $148.00. Also, they still have the PRS-505 at $180 plus tax. I bought one of the PRS-505s but there is still at least one left at the Shakopee store, if anyone is interested.

They also have the Aluratek Libre for $159.99 (in the store I checked; although the website says $169.99) but only the two Sony products are on display. It's too bad there isn't a little more choice in these big bricks and mortar stores. Last time I checked, Canadians are avid readers (and writers).

There's a sliver of good news in that the sister company, Best Buy Canada, is now showing the two Sony models and the Aluratek Libre, but, finally, several models of Astak including the 5" EZ Reader Pocket Pro, the 6" edition and the Mentor. But $280 to $320? Not exactly priced to move with the Sony Daily Edition 600 series touch screen is $300.

For crying out loud. I would never think, in a million years, to look for Sony and Aluratek e-readers at the Dell online store in Canada. And under "PDAs and Handheld Device". Silly me. I thought they sold Dell products. But, there ya go! Old dog! New tricks!
