Nah, the proof is too weak, I'm afraid. You have to do one better.

Well, as a, somewhat good, scientist, I must decline. I'll never be willing to bear the burden of proof, when I have to prove that something doesn't exist. That is not the domain of a true scientist.

Maybe we should get back on topic.

Well, I can only assume it's because you have not had the opportunity for proper field studies (assuming you're the kind of scientist who'd actually do field studies)

I'd actually rather avoid them if I can. Unless they do involve beautiful women of course. So perhaps I should have taken that summer course on Iceland my study offered me back in the days.

That vid is a wonderfully hilarious and very insigthful look at the Danish spoken language from a Norwegian perspective. Even as an "insider" I can say I don't blame them one iota - Danish is a difficult language, even for my fellow Scandinavians. And as for the opinion of an Icelander; they learn Danish in school but also have to live with the fact that Iceland belonged to the Kingdom of Denmark from ca. 1300 to 1944. They don't like us very much I think. I can't blame them - it's just the way things turned out to be.

Perhaps you should have In any case it's a very beautiful and amazing country. I also found myself surprised by how much and how often it reminded me of The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien must have misunderstood and Iceland is Middle-Earth for certain. It's a landscape of extremes, but still small in size. I have seen nothing like it anywhere else.

I think that one came from Judaism, something about “Graven Images” in response to one Golden Calf whilst Moses was communing with a burning bush.

Islam picked up on it and banned graven images to include drawings on paper. Christianity did not, as can be seen in any Catholic church today.

Early Protestants took the Commandment to "make no graven image" seriously—to the point of smashing countless works of priceless art in Catholic churches.

And they have really small horses.

Just kidding. I am actually quite fond of Iceland and icelandic culture. Especially the saga's.

Priceless and priceless. After all most catholic art was derived from vitruvian principles, which really wasn't that exciting.

But of course you shouldn't smash art.
