We have them here, too! They love to drill holes in Ryleigh's playset because the redwood we used to build some of the structure is so soft. Unfortunately, the guard bees scare Ryleigh and no matter how many times we try to tell her that they won't hurt her, she still runs away screaming. We've been considering taking the whole thing down since she won't play on it because of the bees.

I've lost 50 pounds (23 KG) since September due to ill health (Ulcerative Colitis and Diabetes). I started a little overweight, but now I'm in the tongue sticking out category. My Doctor says I'm not underweight, but I still like to gain a few of those pounds back.

Nope, both conditions are chronic and incurable; they are, however, under control.

I don't like to whine here, so I do most of my whining over at HealingWell.

According to Furhmans Eat to Live type II diabetes is reversible by following his diet. I don't recall if the book said anything about colitis.

Thanks Bob, for your concern.

I know some folks over at HealingWell who control their type II diabetes purely by diet, but that does not mean they are cured. I control mine through a combination of medication and diet, but it is controlled, not cured.

As for the UC, there are plenty of quacks around who seek to profit from others ‘ misfortune, but the only recognized cure is a total or partial Colectomy. I’m not ready to sign on for that yet!

Reversible != curable. You can go a long way toward controlling Type II diabetes with proper diet, but once you have it, you can't cure it. It doesn't go away. It's a chronic, long-term condition that requires constant management.

The good part is, it can be managed. The bad part is, you can't ever stop doing what is necessary to manage it.

No, but satisfying the curiosity has been known to be fatal.

AWESOME SCALE !!!

Just weighed myself, I usually do it same time in AM... and something must have snapped.... my weight loss journal should show at least a 2lb loss this week (I record each Friday AMs weight). Although I am hoping for 3+.

Wait was this weight post a rant? Hmm.... perhaps it was an anti-rant.

I just fell off my deck . not normally an epic event, and also not normally something I would do. I tripped over a feed bag while watering my hanging tomatoes. my new knee wouldn't support me and I fell... over bending the knee (I'm not able to completely bend it yet) while it happened. it kind of feels like I tore something in the back of my thigh. I have it elevated and iced and have taken a double dose of pain killer and I just want to cry so badly!!!`

Ouch - sounds more like a visit to the ER or doctor is called for! Safer to get things checked out. Is there someone there (human) to look after you?

Double ouch! Keep your cell phone near you to call for help if needed. Otherwise hug a warm large puddie tat - but DON'T let him jump onto your lap.
