I'm letting the post age, then I'm using the inspector on it first...

Humans make the best pets.
They are a little more intelligent than waffles,
are easily trained with shock therapy,
they can talk (some can even form sentences),
and when you get bored with them, you can eat them!
The only problem is that they breed like rats and are lousy parents.

Are you quite sure that's an asset?

Generally, no. But during shock therapy, it's a scream!

Cat!? Cat!? Never understood why anyone would want a cat. I want a pet that at least gives a damn that I exist.

Humans are social and dogs are as well, being pack animals. Cats are much less social. Dogs are therefore just a better fit. In fact, cats are believed to have been domesticated about 9500 years ago, dogs between 14,000 and 30,000 years ago. No surprise given their behaviors.

Interestingly, (US Stats) there are more owned cats than dogs but more households have dogs. This because more folks have multiple cats than multiple dogs.

Of course this counts the 2 pounders as dogs, I am not sure I would.

The cat gives a damn if I exist. Granted he loves me more when it is cold.

The time difference is because the dogs came to eat our poo and the cats came for the mouse hunting in our grain sheds. We were pooing long before we had grains stores to attract rodents.

How about a cat that doesn't
* tear up all the toilet paper (cute the first time, less cute the twenty-first time.)
* pee in the clean laundry
* wreck the carpet by clawing it up
