I'm trying not to swear, to get calmer rather than angrier, and just get on with what I need to do rather than futile (but satisfying) stomping.

Maybe you just need a good rump steak and a glass of red wine. It sounds like you have vego rage.

Sending you some relaxavibes to chill you out. And oh! there is some bean and vege soup left if you want some for lunch.

Well, I have been tempted to tear strips off someone's rump... maybe you have a point! Or are you NOT advocating cannabalism?

I am trying to write a job application letter

I need to sound sucky and professional, but not too sucky, and somehow tell them I know what I am doing even though I know that the agent to whom I am writing does not really know what I do. :S

Hopefully my letter although written to the agent will sufficiently impress her that she will pass it on to the client who hpefully will understand what I am trying to get across. :sigh:

What the happy heck is "vego rage"? Violent collapse? Hyperventilating? Most vegetarians need a two week headstart and a blood transfusion to blush! What's next? Killer bunnies? Rampaging herds of sheep?

I am now writing an email to the agent in reply to her

"Thanks, though I was hoping you would provide further detail on the specific task to hand?" reply to my letter.

Now I am trying not to sound too condescending.

Like.... " In my experience, projects of this type tend to be a little different each time because of the sources of data and the specific........."

After this I may phone her..or maybe not. if she would let me talk to the client we could work out between us if I could do the job or not!

Right now I'm having a sip of coffee between business appointments and marvel at this wonderful subtitle change of a scene from "Downfall" showing how Hitler reacts to the Hitler parodies/subtitle changes being removed from YouTube .

Good stuff.

More on this over here at techcrunch.

Just did that myself. I feel calmer now, after sending a couple of killer e-mails

I've just spent the past 2 days cleaning up my old laptop and transfering everything of value to my new laptop. Ugh!! I had no idea I had so much garbage on the poor thing. No wonder it was really dragging. I've had it for several years and it was a real work horse but it couldn't handle the OCR software I've been using.

The good thing is, we got a great deal on this new laptop and because my husband completely wiped out everything off of the old one and restored it using the Restore partition, it's like he has a new laptop, too. I can't believe how much faster it run's since he did that.

It makes me wonder what the heck was going on in the background while I was spending my time post to MR.

If you had virus protection software installed it had to inspect evey file on the computer every time it booted up. Hours...
I got rid of all of them and limit myself to a good firewall and stay on safe sites like this one.

Yeap, me too, no anti virus. Running linux most of times anyway. Best protection is a good firewall, and yourself not doing anything stupid.

Not so long ago a friends a mine came, he wanted to activate his new iPhone (Yeah, you need iTunes to do anything with the iPhone...), but his laptop was virused. After some unsuccessful tries to get rid of it , I restored windows. Much to his annoyance, because he didn't fancy losing some apps.
But when he saw how fast the PC was after that... Virus free and crap free. He had me doing the same treatment to his desktop
