I haven't searched for "some time"-- curious when your name was revealed, I plugged "<Name removed> cherrypal" into google, came up with multiple hits, including your post on Cherrypal's facebook book page. That link went straight to your facebook page, where you thought a great profile pic would be you holding your fists up looking for a fight, which you were very quick to delete. And I already said that I was mistaken on the date of your blog post about the cherrypal.

Cherrypal advertised a WinXP netbook, which many people paid for and apparently, nobody ever received. Nor did they receive refunds. That's serious evidence of a scam. Some people were told their netbooks were shipping, but they never arrived. More evidence of scam.

Now, they advertise WinCE netbooks, with less RAM than the previously-advertised hardware, which apparently some people have actually received--but not those who ordered the original WinXP versions.

I must have missed the threads where someone made "threats" or mentioned guns. But isn't it interesting how I was willing to post my real name the first time it was asked, and someone had to track his down, and he then tried to get it rehidden? Hey, wait a minute. I just bought one of these Cherrypal gadgets and I'm basically happy with it. It came two days after ordering it and that was on 3/30/10. This was after 3 fairly responsive emails to and with Max because I wanted to make sure I was getting a Linux version and not a crappy wince.

The Cherrypal I got was exactly as described in the website ad. I am disappointed with the manual and the horribly hackneyed version of Linux on it. But I found a post on the Liliputing website that has a better version of Linux for the Xburst cpu that I will be downloading and trying out soon.

What I like about the Cherrypal is it's small size, it's perfect for kids, small desks and really light. What I don't like is lack of a terminal mode and no login/password. Jeez, leave it somewhere and whoever finds it has access to all your personal stuff. Other complaint is package manager seems to be disabled.

Overall, my Cherrypal experience has been positive. I paid and got what I ordered in a timely fashion. I don't feel I was lied to as reading the website ad. it did say deliveries could take up to 30 days, it did say Linux and did say the cpu was a 400Mhz. I expected a slow unit, and am happy with the price. Only disappointed with the crippled version of Linux, which can be fixed.

I think most of the posters in this thread are just whiny-cry-babies used to instant gratification, go suck on a pacifier. I have seen nothing in this thread that proves Cherrypal is a fraud, my experience has been the opposite. If I had found these postings two months ago, I would not have bought one. I'm glad that didn't happen. My big fear is that I want to buy more of these cheap units and won't be able to.

You got what you ordered. A lot of people didn't--and the website has since been changed, so that what they ordered is no longer visible.

On Feb 3, Cherrypal *was* advertising the Africa Linux at $99, and the Africa Windows at $118.

Windows said: 400 MHz processor, 256 MB DDR / 2 GB NAND-flash and runs Windows XP
Otherspecs: Mouse&Touch pad:build-in touch panel, set two shortcut key,and support usb port mouse USB Port: USB 2.0 x 1 (aid external memory) USB 1.1 x 2 (aid keyboard & mouse only) External Memory : SD card, U-Disk, USB-HDD Card port: SD / MMC card slot (8GB)

The people who ordered *that* computer haven't received it, nor have they received refunds.
