The NYT article in which I was featured (along with Neelan Choksi, one of the founders of Lexcycle; Andrew Herdener, a spokesman for Amazon; and Allen Lau, a co-founder of Wattpad... "Before Choosing an E-Book, Pondering the Format") has been made suggested reading at Drexel University iSchool, in the course:

INFO 665: Collection Development
Week 3: Publishers & Producers of Information Resources and The Selection Process.

Quoted by the Times... validated by university. I feel so... legitimate.

So now, it's time to go check out the author who was considered enough of an authority on e-book formats to be interviewed by the New York Times!

(I mean it! Go! And pick up a book or twelve while you're there.)

Am I too late to join the party?

My first novel, Ariana's Pride, begins after the historic Battle of Barnet where Edward IV took the throne back from Henry IV. Ariana's Pride is available for Kindle and paperback from Amazon and other e-book formats at allromanceebooks.com.

It started with a battle for the throne in a place she never heard of. Before Ariana knew what happened, the outcome ripped her life apart. Alone, she ran from those who destroyed her home. Her only hope was to make her way to the elderly baron her father had chosen for her. But there was no way to reach him on her own; no one to turn to.

One of her father’s grooms finds her unconscious and shivering with fever. Jeremy has no desire to help this proud, arrogant noblewoman. Even though she had scorned him earlier, he cannon leave her to die. He nurses her back to health, only to find himself scorned once again. He will help her to get to the baron and leave her behind to seek his own fortune.

They both know that they have started on a dark and dangerous journey. What they do not know is that the darkest of dangers will come from their own passions.

Jeremy holds the secret that will make this once proud beauty his, but he wants Ariana to love him for himself.

*******

My latest novel is Catherine and the Captain just launched this week. It begins with the death of Edward IV and spans the reign of Richard III. Lots more history in this one since Richard III's reign was very eventful, to say the least. For the moment, the book is only available in Kindle format from Amazon. The paperback will be available in a couple of weeks and should be available in other e-book formats soon.

The King is dead; Long live the King

Catherine Neville has no idea what these events will mean to her. Though of the nobility herself, she lives under the thumb of her cousin, the Duchess of Gloucester. Until Captain Kyle Fallon reminds her that she once led a very different life. She fears him as the man who shattered her secure world so many years ago, but is her memory of those events playing her false?

Captain Fallon does not recognize her as the young girl who changed the course of his life. All he sees is a beautiful woman ensnared by the tyranny of the weak. All he wants is to show Catherine that she doesn't have to give in to her demanding cousin. He didn't count on being ensnared himself by her kind and caring nature.

When the Duchess becomes Queen, Catherine is drawn into a web of political and personal intrigue. Can Fallon rescue Catherine in time? Or will she throw herself into danger by choosing duty and honor over love.

My new historical romance, Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold is a story of family conflicts set in Colorado in 1885. Anne Wells and Cord Bennett are each misfits in their own families. Forced together in violence that should have left Cord dead and Anne brought to heel at her father's furious command, the two instead decide to try to make a life together. Will they succeed, or will their interfering, disapproving families tear them apart? Kindle Locations: 4,846.

Also, for those new to this thread my mystery (no romance, it's really a mystery), Rottweiler Rescue, isn't brand new, but it's only 2 months old. Rottweiler Rescue tells the story of Dianne Brennan, who volunteers as a foster home for a dog rescue group planning to help to save lives. Little does she know that her volunteer work will take her into the path of a canine-phobic killer and her own life will be the one she must save.

Hello Dr Drib and everyone

Plugging Alison Wonderland on here a couple of weeks ago was such a joyful experience that I'm back to tell you about Being Light.

Those links will take you to the kindle store but both books are also available in epub editions at Tyger Books.

Being Light is about a man who flies away on a bouncy castle while installing it in a park in south London. His wife thinks he has been abducted by aliens but the truth is far stranger.

It was first released by Orion ten years ago and got some fantastic reviews: 'Imagine a satire on Cool Britannia made by the Coen Brothers' Times Literary Supplement

Alison Wonderland is $2.99 but Being Light has only just gone live in the kindle store and so it is modestly priced at $1.99 both there and at Tyger Books for a very short time to attract readers and to get some customer reviews on Amazon.

Thanks for the opportunity to promote myself so shamelessly. It has been every bit as wonderful doing this second time around as it was the first time.

Ariana's Pride is in Kindle and other e-book formats. It's in paperback, as well. Catherine and the Captain is in Kindle for right now, but should be available in other formats in the next couple of days and paperback in about two weeks.

Nope... ebook-only here Although that's partly because of length... I wouldn't want to print a 10000-word 'novelette' in pbook form by itself.

I have paperback and ebook, but have to admit that in a matter of months I don't think I'll care at all about the paperback. I'm in Canada and we're behind when it comes to people using ereaders.

Why do you ask?

Thank goodness! Although I'm not the author, I *have* taken on the task of becoming a small-press publisher in order to help some libertarian authors find a publishing home.

As of today, the epub version of Carl Bussjaeger's first novel, "net Assets" is availablee at FiFoBooks.com and the Kindle version will become available at Amazon within a day or two.

I'm already finishing up his anthology, "The Anarchists", and several others have submitted works for consideration.

If you're a libertarian and have a novel you'd like considered, send me an email at editor@nearspacepress.com.

Have I mentioned that I publish a splendid book of short stories by Ernest Bramah? I think I have, but not for at least a week

My excuse this time is that it'll very shortly be available in a hardback (really nice, but expensive!) edition, to join the paperback (also nice, and more affordable), and ebook (the ePub version is best - and DRM-free) editions.

Kai Lung Raises His Voice includes seven hard-to find stories published between 1924 and 1941, and four previously unpublished stories!

The beautiful cover picture is by a Chinese artist, Jin Liyang (1772-1807).

Another reason to post again that's more relevant to Mobileread is that the ePub has just become available through BooksOnBoard, and is currently discounted from the RRP of $7.99/£5.99 to $7.19/£5.42. (UK price includes 17.5% VAT)

Checking other ebook retailers, I find that CoolerBooks also has it. And are selling it at an astonishing £3.89!

It would have appeared at BooksOnBoard earlier, but it seems their systems had a bug when it came to DRM-free ebooks from the Ingram Digital feed. Luckily, I sent them an enquiry about it not appearing, and they very quickly found and fixed the bug.

The paperback is currently available at Amazon (RRP $12.99/£8.99, currently discounted to $11.69/£8.54), and the hardback should become available by the end of the week.

A sample of the epub can be found in my earlier post in this thread, here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...&postcount=211

Just curious. I know this is an e-reader forum, so I just wanted to know who else has paperbacks or hard cover.
