We only lived in the house for 6 months, before it got demolished. It was on a 2 acres block, and developers wanted to build unit on it.
That is, the ghost was safe? Not trying to talk or do something?

OK, so it wasn't haunted by evil spirits, just a nice old lady in a wheelchair... She looked out for my kids, while we were there... My daughter talked about her the most.

When I first sensed her there, I just mentioned to the kids, that she was there to look after us... They were never afraid of her.

Several people died, when they tore the house down a few years later..
Wow, we live in a really old house (oldest part was build in 14something and the newest part was build in 16something) and little things occasionally happen that makes you think something else is in the house but nothing that you can actually see.

I'm the guy that always comes into horror threads to recommend HP Lovecraft. He's better known for writing about ancient horrors from beyond, but he also has a lot of more down to earth stories of ghosts, hauntings, and other general madness. Most Lovecraft short story collections you can find are bound to have at least a few of his ghost stories.

Of course they do!

As ghosts get older they too need assistance.

Just to set you streight, a wheelchair made for a ghost must be VERY light as we all know (except for you it seems). They are after all very insubstantial.

Book wise you might want to try "The House on the Bluff". It's part of the "Legacy Series"

These are by Elena Dorothy Bowman

We had another old house in Denmark, which people said was haunted by the man, who used to live there... Apparently he committed suicide.

The only thing that house was haunted by was mice - dead mice, of course

There was a lot of poison on the loft to kill the mice, and when they started to feel ill, they'd go between the ceiling and the floorboards upstairs next to the chimney and die... The smell was unbelievable, and the only way we could find the buggers, was to rip up the floorboards... Yuk...

Give me a nice ghost any day!

Bet the unit's haunted now, too.

Anyone know of a book with someone's personal encounters?

I usually enjoy reading that kind of stuff at times.

There was one site where a woman would update often with happenings in her house. Though it just seemed like she was looking for them though, but still good reads.

What a pity. And how she looked, her face, clothes? It looked like a hostess or as a maid?

How about James Herbert's HAUNTED? Not sure if it's available as an ebook though.

I only found one James Herbert novel I can buy as ebook, '48 which has been released earlier this month, as far as I could find none of his other books are released as ebook yet.

Everybody thanks for your suggestions, my wishlists for both ebook and pbooks have been added to, now my only problem is choosing which book to buy first.
