I'm not sure what peas you shelled, but these definitely don't need shelling. Neither type. There is a pea pod type that can also be grown here in the winter (regular peas) that requires shelling.

I always make sure do to grow the kind with edible pods. They are just a different type and taste like a cross between a green bean and a pea...sort of...they are quite sweet.

uhhh no. study of toxicity of newspaper ink. no lead in it, briefly; Newspaper Ink
Carbon black is the standard ink used for newspapers. Carbon black is comprised of carbon black, oil, miscellaneous ingredients for anti-misting and low-rub, and paraffin distillates for quick dry. Many colored inks contain the same basic ingredients except pigments replace the carbon black for the desired color. This fact sheet addresses primarily the carbon black inks because these are most commonly used in daily newspapers

I'm a small farmer, I work closely with the agricultural commission on small farm practices, my property is bordered by salmon streams on 3 sides and I have a small protected wetland on the farm. I do organic gardening and all of my practices are subject to inspection at any given time. this includes the food I raise, and how I dispose of the waste material from my horses.

I stand corrected.
I will tell this to the wife that does not let me read the paper in the sauna.

Imagining beppe coming out of the sauna all covered with newspaper ink. Can your wide read backwards? If not, you'd better let her read the newspaper before you

Do you bring your products to the Farmer Market in Seattle? I was there, ages ago, and it was the most beautiful indoor market I ever saw. What a wonderful region you live in. Smack!

No, I am afraid not, just one in which you pour water over scalding stones. I come out quite hot and in winter I roll in the snow. Otherwise I just take a cold shower, smoke few cigarettes, drink a wodka or two and start allover again.

nope, that is a ferry ride away from me. but quite right! Pike Place Market is definetly an experience! I occasionally sell at the local Farmer's Market.

I used to do the whole hot tub, roll in the snow routine myself when my hot tub worked. lots of fun!

But you're only wrong for the past 25 years. Prior to that, lead could be used. From the article posted by KK: "Lead, which can be absorbed through the skin, was banned as an ingredient in ink by the EPA in 1985 and is, therefore, no longer a threat."

Find a goose hunter. After the hunting season ask for a goose wing. (They are usually discarded.) Folded and tied, it resembles an owl if tied to a tree branch. Most birds want to avoid owls. Do not do this if you like to keep/watch bird feeders.

Just taken delivery of 11 old english roses, it'll take me a few days to get them into place (especially as it is supposed to be turning colder this coming week).
