Australia's biggest telco attempts to steal iPad's thunder with T-hub tablet
Folks,
Interesting news from Down Under: Telstra - the majority-goverment-owned and largest telco in the nation - will launch its app-centric touchscreen tablet device the "T-hub" on Tuesday April 20. With the iPad release date yet to be annouced (it still says "late April" on the AU Apple site), the telco will beat Apple to the tablet market in Oz. But you only benefit if you use Telstra for ALL your services, namely landline, mobile and internet....
Wonder how long it takes iinet to bring out BOB II (including streaming TV shows hub) or similar? |

Yes - Telstra have to stop people dropping their landlines somehow. Otherwise it (and 50.5% of the government) goes broke! Bring on BOBII, III and IV.

I don't think Apple has got much to worry about here, but it is good to see Telstra putting their thinking cap on.
On an unrelated note, I'm reading that iiNet is bringing pay TV competition to Foxtel (Telstra). Now that's a news which should worry Telstra. |

It should and what's more, it should almost derail AFACT's appeal against iiNet in their continuing campaign to sue everyone instead of change business models.
