I will answer about The Piloy Bob to Ea.

She lived in rue de Chateu in the XIV. So we commuted about every two weeks. She came down here and I came up there. Then it was more me going up. I was more free with my work obligations. Flew up on Thursday evening, went back Monday morning. Plus the holidays of course. It went on for four years. Paris is the best place in the world to be in love. Then we decided to really live together else the affair would have evaporated. Here I own the house, I have quite a good salary not so easy to export, blah, blah. So we gave up Paname for a small village in NW Lombardy. She found a very good job and we have lived very happily since. She being Italian, from Milano like me and in the same profession helps a lot. Until the little one arrived 3 years ago - thanks to all the upstairs management for that - we went back to Paris many times every year. We still have many friends. In Paris one can reserve a tennis court with Auditel! That's civilization.

I think that the penguin is just the avatar. He looks to me like a very reliable person. The most reliable person in the whole Forum. Not the more serious or the more ponderous. And if he says that he lost 32 lb in a month I believe him blindly.

ha, that explains it ! that's a lovely story. i have to say, i think italy is a pretty great place to be in love as well. firenze is one of my favourite cities in the world.

BTW: As of today total loss is 40lbs since Feb 1. I am hopping to get another 10 lost by my Drs Apt on the 26th. But, it's gonna be close.

I feel your pain - I've dropped 10 pounds since I could get out walking again (without freezing or drowning) and want to shed another 10 before my annual physical exam at the end of April. I've totally given up snack food - instead have sliced up a pound of colby cheese into tiny cubes that I munch on.

Cheese (all dairy) is very high in fat. Munch on cucumber slices... put them in a shallow dish and put some vinegar in it and sprinkle a little Mrs. Dash on it. Or, just snack on celery sticks... they are nice and crunchy if fresh. Or, perhaps a few oz's of raw nuts... not commercially roasted, they aren't great... but better than cheese.
