No falsh because Apple dont want it its that simple.

And although potentially unfair as Adobe have distanced themselves the fact that the JooJoo goes from 5 hours life to 2.5 hours when using flash is alittle worrying.
I've nothing against flash personally btw but I think in the UK there are less sites that rely on it I don't have flash on firefox and can not remember the last time I had an issue..

...You are specifically condemning criticism of a process which is alienating devs and making it harder to develop good apps. You are the one insisting that Apple's actions can't be wrong. Claiming free speech won't work this time.

but i DIDNT! i neither broke out apples non game apps OR the DS non game apps! I treated both exactly the same.
Non-game apps are a small minority of sales on the DS. Game apps are a small minority of sales on iPhone. The comparison is very badly misleading. If you had said "software", it would of been an different comparison (although still misleading, since iPhone apps are on average FAR cheaper than DS carts, and sales volume is hence misleading), but you did not. You were wrong.

This will happen regardless of device. Review score creep is well known, and most "independent" reviewers don't compensate for it.

Yes, I get your point that you believe Apple can do no wrong, but back in the real world, removing the functionality does hurt the app. You asked for an example, I gave one, you will now not admit you were wrong. Again.

Also, 2 years is an eternity in phone terms, it's an entire replacement generation. Month-to-month or at the longest the quarter is important, and Android phones are taking off like someone stuffed a rocket under their market share.

And the JooJoo has crappy software which can't even handle 720p video playback smoothly. Blaming Flash is misplaced, try the fact that they illegally dumped the partner who was doing their software development for the reasons behind that.

I thought it was well known that a Window server crashes more than for example a Unix server.

Also as a desktop I always seems to crash Windows the few times I use it.

These days Windows servers and desktops are pretty stable. XP is more prone to crash than Vista/Win7 (they have a new user mode driver framework which helps a lot)... and Server 2003 and up is rock solid.

I've been running a Windows Home Server with 9TB storage for 14 months 24/7 and it's never crashed. Besides using this to back up files, it also acts as a HTPC recording up to 5 channels at a time including running commercial skipping software.

I have Windows 7 (both 32 and 64 bit) installed on 4 home PCs/laptops and none have crashed. Haven't seen a BOD since XP SP2.

YMMV but I'm a happy Windows owner.

To revisit, I did this again and you definitely get the full ESPN.com sight on the iPad when you select that, no difference from what is on a laptop, videos work etc. As expected, the ESPN360 streaming video site doesn't work, maybe they'll put out an app for that.

I also checked CNN.com again, full version there as well, and videos work.

So again, the lack of Flash on it doesn't bother my browsing experience too much. Right now just lack of ESPN360, facebook games, and Fox/NBC shows (until the Hulu app is out, and or a Fox app comes out). Not ideal, but not the deal breaker I expected.

So a 2nd gen iPad is a strong possibility for me if there's not an Android based (or other) tablet out that impresses me out by the time of the 2nd gen launch.

I run W7 on my Home Theater PC (one of only two Windows machines I own - everything else is Macs). The HTPC runs 24/7 and it often goes for a month or more without reboot. Pretty much the same as my Macs, so I don't see any difference in stability. Anecdotal, I know, but it seems to be common enough.

dmaul1114: I just looked at ESPN and you are right, it's not Flash-heavy. But a ton of other sites are, so while it may work for you, it's still a drwback, and a major one for many.

Although, take a look at this ESPN page and tell me how it works on the iPad....

Like I said, I know it's a drawback for those of you who do use a lot of flash heavy sites.

I'm lucky and not very many of my regularly browsed sites use flash--which surprised me. But I guess it shouldn't as I'm not much of a techie so my web browsing is very basic. News sites, a couple forums, and streaming video is about all I use. Along with google scholar and my university library website for finding articles.

So it's not a deal breaker to me like it is to you and others.

I'd prefer to have Flash for sure, but I could deal with lack of Flash if the Android and other tablets can't match the form factor (thinness, no heavier etc.), battery life and ease of use (pinch zoom etc.).

But I do hope something matches the iPad in all those areas, adds Flash, a file management system with straight drag and drop in windows etc.

But at the end of the day the slickness of the UI, the battery life and form factor etc. are more important to me as the other things are annoyances that I could mostly work around on the iPad (though I'd prefer not to have to work around them).

In any case, I'm willing to wait until late this year, early next year to make a purchase so I can see what other tablets come out, what's rumored to come in the 2nd gen iPads, see if Apps fix some of my gripes with the iPad etc.

Very similiar to my outlook except i figure I will buy an iPad now and then sell it for a loss of a $100 or maybe $150 to buy the 'perfect' device but have then had it for 12 months.

Based on what Google (and HTC) did with the Nexus One, I really wish they would do a tablet.

If they announced one, it may put a wrench in Jobs' plans....
