Why do you all need an extra light for the Reader?
I can read from it on daylight with no problems.
And when it's getting dark I switch on the light in the room whether I'm read from the Reader or reading a paper-book or eating or whatever.
When I'm in bed and my girlfriend wants to sleep but I want to Read I have something like this: http://www.heise.de/tp/r4/artikel/19/19564/19564_1.jpg

Great for reading and dark enough so that my gf can sleep.

I find the desk lamps are too bright and keep my wife awake. I need something very low power - two or three LEDs. Plus portability is a necessity since we travel Way Too Much.

The one you linked to is a USB light, so it won't work with the Sony eReader. (And even if it did, the USB port on the Sony (it's a mini B) is at the bottom. Wouldn't you need a loooong neck to wrap around the back and come out at the top? The two USB lights I have (not the one linked to) have relatively short necks.

Btw, I purchased a single MightyBright light and it's been working very well for the eReader at night. (I bought it because I kept having to scrounge up where I'd last put my Neo to use the dual light since that's what I'd gotten it for.)

I think whatever light has LEDs will work well.

What I'd like to find is an ultra-low wattage standard bulb. I've got a gooseneck bed lamp that I'd rather use than my LED lamp, but a 15-w bulb is way too bright. I've seen bulbs as low as 7.5W, but I haven't bought that yet (wondering if even that would be too bright.)

yeah i know but you can plug it in your laptop on the bedside table, no one says you have to plug it in your ereader in fact it's better not to plug or attach the light to reader only makes it heavier

Let's say it is a bit incovenient to drag a laptop + psu to bed every evening. Such a simple task as reading a book becomes much more complicated. My verilux lamp works from USB connector but I have never used it so far. No cables in my bed when I read a book. Just sony reader and a lamp clipped to the top of the reader. The ultimate goal is to achieve the same(or better) comfortable environment as I had when I was reading paper books. If I had to bring laptop psu and cable to bedroom each time I wanted to read a book, it would be ....unacceptable

lights?

What lights work the best with the 500 and 505 Sony reader? pics? I'm trying to decide if I want the one Sony sells. Want to find out if there is a better choice.

Sharon, start over again at the beginning of this thread. You'll hopefully get a lot of good ideas and maybe find a light you'll want.

Because there are times when we don't have access to a plug in lamp and want to read at night or when lighting is poor. I know I need one for travel in car, and also in movie theatres (before movies starts etc).

Speaking of the car, if you go to Radio Shack and purchase an iGo A54 tip along with an iGo autopower8 Adapter then you can charge/use your 500/505 from the cigarette lighter in the car. And if you want to charge your cell phone, just get the tip for that and you'll be all set.

And speaking of light sources, I do have an ear light which works pretty well. I've only ever used it while in bed though. Bought it to read pbooks and it works ok for the 500. Have yet to try it with the 505.

I just got the Bug Light(the Xtraflex Duet from Mighty Bright), its very nice. The light projects a good even white light across the entire screen and can be easily positioned to eliminate glare. I can try to post some pictures if anyone wants any.

Please do. I'd like to see it with the 505.
