What is in your cup?

You know, I think, for a time, being able to see Magic Eye was a bigger class division than socioeconomic status. Instead of the haves and have-nots, there were the coulds and the could-nots. Luckily, I graduated pretty quickly to the "coulds", even though I havenʻt made it to the "haves" yet

Sneaky snake! you have to be about a foot or so away from the screen, let your eye relax and cross a little and try not to blink until you start seeing things pop out a little. Once they pop out all the way, you can look around the picture, but, until then, you have to kind of blankly stare in the middle. Some people say stare like youʻre staring *beyond* the picture. you *can* do this!! We can *all* be coulds!

I still can't do it. Maybe when I got my eyes fixed by laser that ability went with the bionic close-ups I also used to be able to do.

I will try again later with a full screen one. When my headache gets better.

I belong to the can't be bothereds. Never saw the point of staring at an image for hours in order to see something else

Ah, but when you hone your skill, itʻs still hours of staring, but you manage to get dozens of images in each hour

But are they even worth looking at? I won't know that until I've spend hours looking for them. If I want to see things, all I have to do is look around me, take a walk, go to a museum, or borrow an art or photography book at the library.

Most Magic Eye pictures are designed to be looked at slightly 'wall-eyed', not cross-eyed. So it's easier to see them when they're close to you, and then by thinking about looking past them you can cause your eyes to uncross a bit and then see the image.

Normally your eyes' focus and their position matches. For Magic Eye pictures you need to have the focus closer than the position of your eyes would suggest.

For me, crossing my eyes is easy, but to uncross them requires a relaxation, rather than concentration.

I usually get close and unfocus my eyes so that I see a double image and then adjust focus or move my head so that the 2 images move toward or away from each other until I see a hint of 3D. Then the 3D usually snaps into focus. After you've done it once it usually only takes a few seconds.

And what's in my cups? Coffee and clear chicken broth. That's all I can eat (along with jello) until tomorrow afternoon.

Ah, I was wondering what he meant.....I'm deliberately avoiding that myself the last couple of years......of course there's no family history of colon cancer/issues......now brain damage....that's a different matter.

My family doesn't really have a history of any sort of cancer but the insurance at work is really pushing preventative health care, so I get $50 gift certificate out of it.
