I am in a ferry in the middle of the English Channel, on the Portsmouth to St. Malo run. The ferry has wifi. It's an overnight trip and tomorrow morning we arrive for a week's holiday in Brittany.

Thank you, Florence and Kenny. I love Brittany and go there quite often. My partner has even written a history of Brittany. The weather does look as though it will be fine for most of the week.
We're planning to visit Becherel, the Breton book village, which is very quiet and beautiful. And we may see some French friends too.

have a lovely time patricia ! i think you timed your trip just right, it seems like spring is here (for the moment, at least). i hope it stays nice and sunny all week. try not to buy too many books, they're heavy.

From what I understand (and I am no expert), the hands do tell a story, but hand movements for the same song can be vastly different, depending on the kumu who created the dance. So each hula is specific to the kumu who taught it, with regards to the movements chosen to represent the meaning of the song.
