Which device did you buy, I wasn't sure which poster you replied to.

Lenovo list it as 3lbs so marginally heavier than their standard netbooks of that size so it does seem to be a typo on the part of amazon.

It weighs 3 lbs with a small battery. The hinge is steel so it should be ok. It is listed in our wiki. Short battery life seems to be the biggest thing against it.

Hi all. I went on ebay & bought a Fujitsu Stylistic st5032D for $210. It has a 12" screen & weighs 3lbs. I am having so much fun playing with it. It's a little big but my comics and books look great on it. I think this will do a good job of holding me over till the hp slate becomes available. I think from now on I'll be doing all my reading from a full windows device.

Yes, Asus t91mt also an interesting choice. If you would like to watch, this is Asus t91mt interface demo video. But for me I think Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t has a better spec but If you can wait (Maybe in this year) how about Microsoft Courier ? Lovely isn't it ?

I suspect the Microsoft Courier is just vaporware and at best a concept prototype device. I wouldn't count on it ever being available. I'm not sure why I would want two screens when that would increase the price and the weight. Just make a tablet with one screen, 4 to 6 navigation buttons, and Windows 7 Home loaded. That would blow the crappy iPad toy out of the water.

Just as a matter of interest, what program are you using to read comics on that device, have you come across one that supports touch input or simply using one with decent-sized onscreen buttons?

For me, comics will be one of the biggest selling points of this form factor and while the ability to use the same programs I have now on my pc would be ideal, it has occurred to me that I'm using keys that wouldn't be there if I was using a tablet pc.

I use comic book reader...and I've just programmed the page turns as left mouse clicks....so I end up just having to tap the screen and the page turns.....2 taps and I go back a page and 3taps and I get the thumbnail view.......it actually works alright not absolutely perfect, but my main concern was that I could read the writing clearly which I can

I've been using a little CTL classmates netbook tablet for over six months. I love it abundantly, but not necessarily as an ebook reader. I love it as a replacement for my much larger and heavier laptop.

What I don't really enjoy (as an ebook and bible reader) is that it's OS is still the same-old Windows OS. This system is not really the ideal solution for someone wanting a book-reader device. For well over a decade I've also used PDAs and HPC devices which utilize the OS as part of the hardware... a much, much better solution for unique reader needs. A system that has to 'load' in order to operate just doesn't compare to an OS that comes on instantaneously when you hit the start switch.

I will continue to use my little netbook for other computer tasks, but I am looking to a device such as the new Archos 7 Home Tablet for fulfilling on-the-run quick-and-ready usage which no computer running Windows can possible offer.

Just something to think about.

I don't understand why all those tablets have wide screens. Well, actually I understand - they are the cheapest right now. Those screens are too narrow when used in portrait mode and too short when used in landscape mode... I won't buy iPad but I have to admit - using better than TN screen (IPS) with 4:3 proportions was a very good decision by Apple.
