Yes, I wrote a bit with the iPad and it was a very enjoyable experience. I also experimented with the multi-touch a bit; dragging, rotating, and changing the size of pictures. The response is very-fast and accurate. I could learn to love this device. Now if they could only keep these features while reducing the weight and price!

EDIT: That's wrote as in typed. I didn't write with a stylus or finger.

I didn't get to find out if it generates much heat. The Apple store had several of them tethered to the table.

I spent the morning cutting down the Wisteria to size and the afternoon getting my first 100 posts, plus drinking various innocuous concoctions. I was alone in the house and that makes it extra special. Then I discovered that my cherry tree has suddenly developed a huge number of green buds. None yesterday. Very good cherries, but before that the most wonderful perfume in nature. Vegetable, I mean.

I am very attracted. The big screen, the powerful processor, Apple quality. The point for me is that I would not use it for navigating. 3G in Italy is marginal and very expensive. And just reading and fooling around with silly games does not justify it. But writing ... that's an other story.

I amended my answer to your post. I just want to make it clear that I didn't do any finger or stylus writing. Everything I did was via the virtual keyboard, and that was quite a pleasant surprise! Writing is what I would want it for as well. If only I had $500 to spare!

Oh the joy of fruit trees. Cherry blossom is the most beautiful. My mother has an orange tree and boy it's amazing taking in the breath with a orange tree in full bloom.

Since I changed my Avatar I sort of feel distracted. Virtual keyboard means that you touched something on the screen with something. Am I wrong.Be patient with me dear Tom. It took so much to write because I was called to perform some imaginary duty.

Fruit cherry in blossom is indeed beautiful. But if you put your nose directly into a bunch of flowers when they are at their peak (and that does not last more than few hours), and you inspire - do it carefully, with the eyes closed. At the beginning inspire very gently, until you find the right strength - then, under the sweet smell you perceive, more a color then a smell, but then it is a smell, you perceive a vague lemony hint, a fragrance, bordering on the acid side, that melts with the sweetness. And ...

I hope it will not rain when it blossoms.
