Yes, the activity monitor will give you this info. (Or you can use the ps command in terminal.) I probably should have checked it.

I just got a medical report for my injury...

I'll have the cast removed in two weeks to have another one made for another four weeks. I will not be allowed to put weight on the leg all that time. They set a back to work date on june 16th!!! I'd be bankrupt then!!!

There's this brace I could use but I just can't afford it yet...

It looks tiresome; like constantly climbing stairs. I wonder if wearing an elevator shoe on the other foot would make it easier to walk naturally?

My cat is trying to make my head explode!

So - this morning I'm pouring crunchies into the 3 cat bowls - 2 cats are inhaling their breakfast. Goldie cat is standing in the doorway watching [Normally she inhales her food and begs for more]. She stays there until Sammy cat starts eating her food - runs in - picks up one piece in her mouth - chews & spits it out - then runs out of the kitchen and refuses to eat anything. She acts as if the food bowl contains poison.

I panic - thinking she has something caught in her mouth that is either making chewing painful or preventing her from eating, or she broke a tooth. I wrestle her down and look into her mouth - can't see anything wrong. No blood, rubber band, etc. But she won't eat. So call to get emergency appointment with vet. Then I go to box her up for the trip - and see her back end sliding under a chest of drawers that must weigh half a ton. Now I'm flat on the floor, sliding my arm underneath trying to scootch her far enough forward to grab and pull out. Some time later, minus some skin & blood and covered with dust & cat hair, I extract her and shove her into her travel box. Off we go to the vet.

The vet finds absolutely NOTHING wrong with the cat. Anywhere.
And to top it off - she offers Goldie a dish of food so she can observe the food spitting behavior. And the g***dam cat calmly eats the entire bowl of food. No problem. We leave, minus a couple hundred dollars.

So, we're home. I offer food - she won't eat.
I give up and arrive a half-day late for work covered with cat hair and sweat. I have no idea what's going to happen tonight when I get home and try to feed the cats.

Thank you for reading/listening to my rant. And yes - I voluntarily chose to share my life with cats. Although now an ant farm is looking quite attractive. It's going to be a long Easter weekend!

You didn't originally get these cats from the vet did you? A skilled vet could train the cats to act sick to have you bring them back for a couple hundred bucks a visit.

No - but that's a dastardly thought! Maybe they are earning a little on the side with unnecessary vet trips.

All of my little darlings were rescues from animal shelters - I walk in and let one of them choose me.

I chose my dog the same way. LOL

A month after I got married, 13 and a half years ago, my wife wanted a dog. I went to the pound and picked out a little black lab / chow puppy mix that had hernia staples in its belly. I chose it because it was running around loose at the pound because it escaped the cage or something. They told me they were going to put it to sleep since no one wanted a dog from the pound with medical problems. I took it home and she is in the backyard sleeping in the sun as we speak.

Well duh, you just paid the vet 200 bucks to feed her, now she's not hungry anymore. And, to make matters worse, now she'll expect to go out to eat all the time
