Mmm, but the shenanigans at the University of East Anglia does leave a nasty taste in the mouth doesn't it? And whilst the climate change lobby makes the point that the fundamental science remains unscathed, the fundamental science has been carried out by scientists who, for all we know, might be driven by the same motives that Phil Jones and his cohorts were - whatever those motives were.

You should read Lee Smolin's "The Trouble with Physics..." the second half of the book is a pretty scathing indictment of the tenure and grant system. Not that he feels any results are untrue, but just that he thinks the system as a whole is kinda headed the wrong direction and needs some changes.

Just off the top of my head:

1) The "science" is a load of crap, and I can prove it. These scientists are just like expert witnesses during criminal trials. In a nutshell; paid for their opinion. With grants. Try getting funding if you disagree.

2) Too many people. Critical mass.

3) The staggering drop in common sense as an inherited trait.

If there is a God, He's laughing His head off.
And getting ready to pull the plug.

I too believe that much of the science is, if not exactly crap, then at least questionable. But I don't see how this ranting proves that its crap - which is what you undertook to do
