I had shipped it comercially, the address was clearly typed and the zip code was correct.
Yes, your government and tax dollars at work.....and they wonder why the government postal system is losing money.

You can get folding full size bikes too They don't fold as small as a Brompton or similar, but do still fold.

Or go for something unusual and hard to ride off, like a recumbent, a Pedersen, single gear...

Or go three wheels, get a Kettweisel and stand up on end indoors

Expensive!!!

But this store also holds Strida bikes. Very interesting...
If you really want a bike that will fit in a suitcase, take a look at R & E Cycle in Seattle

http://www.rodcycle.com/

They have an "S & S" coupling system that allows the frame to be split. The whole thing, wheels and all, fits inside a 26 x 26 x 10 suitcase (inches), that can go on an airline without an oversize charge. I drool over these, and now I've just found out that they have an option to install one on an existing bike (since I already own and earlier R&E model). But they ain't cheap!

Hey, you can even read while riding this last one! Extremely interesting!

The prices, though! Imagine spending that much on a bike, and then having it stolen anyway

Those bikes are still too big to be easily carried. I like the fact that the Strida folds in 15 seconds and rolls on its wheels like a toddler stroller and the fact that it has a cleaner belt drive rather than a chain...

Good for shipping but not for frequent assembly/disassembly cycles...

Maybe but if it folds you'll be able to bring it inside and store it in any closet...

That is probably $2 or $3 a month thrown away.
I get these from at least three companies that we are already customers of theirs. When you factor in printing costs for the materials, plus postage, and multiply that by the number of "unnecessary" mailiings they send to people who are already customers, it comes out to a lot more than 2 or 3 dollars.

I feel your pain Kindlekitten. I have been jogging 5-7 miles a day as part of my exercise program. I have lost 20 pounds over the last 6 weeks though.

Hang in there.
