ha! no. when you rodeo, all of the roughstock, the cattle in the roping events and so on are picked by lottery, hence "out of the hat". there used to be a cross country/eventing course where they required riders to swap horses. I thought that had ended, but there ya' go

How do you get a hat big enough to fit cattle and horses inside?

I'm annoyed by the recent habit of young people to use like instead of said.

e.g. " I'm like, 'Let's go to the movies tonight.' And he's like, 'No, I'm busy tonight.' "

And all that. I've got nothing against contractions or abbreviations. IMO, they've all got a right to exist. Abominations like those above, though, don't.

Come to think about it, there's another word: "Carebear".
Especially the way it is used in the Eve Online forum. It's a synonym for "Someone who is playing the sandbox-like game in a way that does not benefit ME and thus shouldn't be valid."...
(At least it's used that way. :-/)

Might be, but how else can you easily specify those groups? Skin color is a pretty good divider, even if the usually applied colors aren't anywhere close to realistic.
