I will give it a try. I have a Sony and a Kindle. I am not sure if I need a nook to buy from B&N.

My iPad awaits April 3rd, and I expect to be spending the weekend experimenting.

Apple is really pushing device as a generic in home consumer entertainment device. It will be more open than an iPhone for example, which HAD to be locked into AT&T to make money.

It looks like it will be integrated with all kinds of third party book sellers, but I wonder how easy it will be play other video types like .AVI.

Amazon has a preview of their Kindle app for tablet computers (including the iPad) on their website. It looks pretty good but I'm not sure what other "tablet computers" are unless that means Android OS based.

Presumably they will also implement it for windows-based tablets too or even any touch-based pc maybe.

I would like Adobe DE for iPad as I have a few DRMd books and I have not figured how to remove the DRM with mac OS 10.6. I am not planning on sharing them but more future proofing and if it can go on any device I like then the DRM is not onerous.

they already work on iPhone via Txtr so 'should' be on iPad from day one.

well we are no closer to knowing if it is than we wer a month ago!

just because Amazon have made an aoo that will work on iPad doesnt mean it will be approved! lots of developers have submitted app to the appstore and had them refused!
Google voice for example!

personally I think it will be approved but we dont KNOW that yet.

I don't think that the Kindle and B&N readers for iPad will have the grace and feel of the iBooks app. iBooks' interface is one of the major reasons to appeal me towards iPad.

I think Google Voice was more ATT put pressure on Apple to deny it.

That only depends on the programming skills of the Amazon and B&N guys. Technically they have the same possibilities as Apple has.

Besides, I don't think the iBooks app is really that perfect. For example in current screenshots it lacks more sophisticated sorting mechanisms than just ... sorting alphabetically.

You've said this a few times. What do you feel is so special about the iBooks app interface that you think is far beyond the current book reading apps?
