that's because they follow the season. must be nice to have that kind of money huh? also one of the reasons you run into it there in Vancouver so much is that there is a well used program at Whistler that brings in "exchange" workers for the ski area. it's only open to citizens of what's left of the British Empire we were told

oh, yeah I know. I do/have done the same. 3 seasons ago I worked full time and lived on the mountain. a little old for your typical ski bum but it was a good experience!

Yeah, I know a few folks who follow winter round the planet. My niece and boyf' is about to give it a go. Fairly spare living (they're starting in an old van down south around Hotham), but for those who like the snow so, the relative poverty is worth it.
