I'm sitting here listening to the quiet in the house. Ryleigh is at school, Zack is still sleeping (as usual

), the dogs are all sleeping after a very busy morning and Shannon is passed out on the sofa after being up every hour throughout the night to let her new puppy outside.

She told me this morning that she had no idea how hard of work it was to help a puppy adjust to it's new environment ~ and she wouldn't because I have always done it.

Just one more experience to add to her "LIFE" portfolio.

Crating the puppy at night will help to house train it - and let her get some sleep! He's a real cutie!
[When I got my first puppy, I had a cat already in residence. I crated the pup at night, and the cat would sit on top of the crate and hiss until he ran out of spit. Eventually they became best friends.]

Her name is KiKi after an artist name KiKi Smith. I know ~

Shannon did have her in a crate but the puppy whined much of the night so she kept taking her outside to let her go potty. I think it's just going to take the puppy a couple of days to settle in and, hopefully, get her days and nights straightened out!

oh my god !! that's hilarious !! kiki is like the classic name an old lady would give to her tiny dog here. one day my boyfriend (at the time) did an imitation of an old lady calling her dog "kiKI !" in a really high voice. it was so hilarious i burst out laughing and i couldn't stop. even now i start to laugh whenever i think of that and i can't even remember what we were talking about, i just remember that voice he made !!!

now shannon's dog is always going to make me giggle.

Many, many years ago my grandmother gave me a small poodle which she had named "GiGi" so I have always thought of that as an "little old lady dog name"!

Shannon had narrowed her choices down to Frida or KiKi, both artists, but Frida just wasn't a cute enough name for the puppy. She is absolutely adorable and very cuddly. She follows Shannon every where she goes and starts to cry if she can't find her. The picture doesn't really do her justice since I'm a horrible photographer.

With Frida at least the hair would have matched.

And the eyebrows! The puppy has little brown eyebrows which is uncommon, or so the breeder told us. Thankfully, they aren't a unibrow, though!!

i dunno, that would have been pretty cute !!! but then of course "kiki" wouldn't have suited her at all, it would have to be frida.

I'm wading through a 15 page handout written by a computer on PCI DSS Compliance requirements, trying to figure out how to put together a policy for my company. Last year it was the Red Flag program for Identity Theft! I swear every summer the government invents a new program that all companies must comply with - and produce gigantic policy manuals to be filed and ignored. Talk about waste of paper! And time!
