Library DRM is date based, so you need a machine with a real-time clock. You probably wouldn't, therefore, want to go for one of the Jinke clone machines, which forget the time when switched off.

Adobe library ebooks work on the Jinke devices (Hanlin, BeBook, EZ Reader, ....). I think this is because, unlike with MOBI library ebooks, it is ok for the time to be before the original loan date. If you don't set the time, the device always shows a date in the past and that works for the lending library ebooks.

Yes, it works just fine. I usually keep my PP locked now, but I used to often turn it off, lost the time, hated resetting it, and then realized I didn't really care about the clock anyway. I just look at my watch for the time.
And then I decided I didn't want the clock working correctly all the time anyway, because it might delete the library book at the 14 day time limit, and I wasn't necessarily done reading the book. (Slow reader, and don't read alot every day) So, my date and time are not correct on the PP, but I just download my library book without any problem, read at my leisure, and it doesn't 'disappear' until I plug my PP into my computer, and it must automatically update the date/time info in ADE, and if it's past its due date, the book quits opening up. |
