If you are, by any chance, interested in a broader customer base, could you consider adding the support for djvu format? P.S.: trinking water on the side (C) should help against hiccups ![]() Last edited by eLiNK; 03-13-2010 at 03:14 AM. |

Yes , DittoBook says they will have a "more detailed update" next week. They are working up to the production run.

shipping worldwide?
Hi Dulin's Books/DBooks,
You both seem to be speaking for "dittobook" as a product. So I assume you represent Dulinsbooks in some way, at least based on your response and your screen names. Maybe a formal introduction will be good (like RobertB of Astak). Or, maybe i missed it, please accept my apologies if so. I have a question regarding the dittobook D9(assuming your representation). Will the dittobook D9 be available worldwide? Thanks hari |

Im a reseller of various Lines of eBook Readers. Currently PocketBook 301+ and 360 as well as Onyx Boox 60. We are on-line only at the moment but later in the year we will have a storefront in our local market for the holidays.
I'm hoping to carry the DittoBook D9 in my store because i think it will be a very good 9.7 inch reader. I havent held one yet tho so the final decision hasn't been made. DBooks is a representative of the DittoBook company itself. They have several models now under their brand and an excellent ebook store. I don't have very many geographical restrictions but I do limit sales somewhat to countries outside of the US where there is not already another reseller of that product. I understand what it takes to keep a business going in a tight market and everyone is just trying to make a living. So if we do begin sales of the D9 we will sell worldwide. |

Dittobook has updated their site with a new price of $429. I'd say that is probably the final as they have the d6 plus, which is the same as the Onyx Boox/Bebook Neo, at $299 which is about the lowest you can sell that model.
I'm sure we'll hear more from them this week or next. |

Hi guys, just wanted to give you a quick update.
Unfortunately our time line is slightly delayed. We're having troubles with one of our vendors for a key component. We're aggressively looking for an alternative solution. While it is a key component, implementation of it will be straight forward and will not require too much effort. So when the vendor we're having issues with decides to pull their asses off of their heads, or when we find an alternative solution, it will be a short time between then and release. I really hate to postpone this as I'm proud of what we've been able to accomplish, but I'd rather get this right as opposed to having a craptastic product. I'm sincerely sorry guys. |

I'm thinking that it must be a sort of a challenge to produce a large screen e-reader. Most of them vendors who have announced products have been delayed again and again...

Amazon and Entourage seem to be producing at the 9.7" size. I wonder what's going on with these other companies. I was really excited about the dittobook. Guess I'm still interested but this is disappointing.

Hi, I'm looking since two months for a decent ereader both for academic reading and viewing technical documents. Since the start of this thread I've been following the news you posted here with great interest and can't wait for the ditto to come out.
![]() 1) Marked text and annotations. Let me put it as a use case: I'd like to read pdfs, mark some passages in the text and maybe do here and there an annotation via virtual keyboard or via pen-scribbeling. Afterwards I connect the device to the computer (USB/wireless) and get the textpassages I marked as a textfile on the computer. Ideally each text block in this file has the number of the page(s) where it is from (quoting info). Is this possible with this device or any ereader for that matter? I've only played with the sony dayly yet and it is utterly useless for this purpose as far as I know. 2) can you access the LAN wirelessly from the device in order access/copy files? 3) will there be a rudimentary browser? 4) what is the bluetooth intended for - keyboard? that'd be mighty fine. I appreciate all your answers and i'll keep my fingers crossed for your success. one more thing...Will it be available in europe around the same time as in the states? And I hope, when it's out, there's gonna be a video to get a feeling for the handling and the refresh timing. thanks again for the answers... ![]() |
