If they had a history of making a particular device then it would seem fair enough to say they had earnt it, but it seems slightly odd to use that phrase for a new device like this, not that any of that really matters because the second half of the sentence is one of the only two real considerations with the other being can you afford one at the time.

I'm sorry. They're really using the word, "magical" to describe it? That's hysterical.

I tell you one thing... I don't know if main street loves this device... but Wall Street does. Apple's stock has gone up about 25 points since the pre-orders were announced.

The device will be fantastic. It's a shame some people can't see that...

We have to wait an other month in Canada...

Can we get a mod to change the topic? It just looks silly. I was going to say it looks stupid, but I decided to be nice about it.

Maybe the "magic" is in how fast Apple will sell them.

I received an email from Apple this morning inviting me to buy. Placed my order immediately for the 64gb model and received an email acknowledgment in reply. Free shipping with delivery on the 3rd of April. Magic or illusion? I'll find out only 2 days after April Fool's Day.

Me too, I ordered the 32 Gig 3G version so will have to wait a bit longer but I can use it on the road more easily when I travel.

Hey, marketing is marketing. Who cares about how they market things? Most companies engage in this crap to one degree or another.

As for me, I buy a device or not based strictly on what it can do vs. my needs. Specs count, hands-on reviews count, corporate marketing (on the one hand) and uninformed opinions (on the other), do not.

Oh yes, of course, unilaterally changing the OP's chosen title because you don't like it would be perfectly OK

[QUOTE=jswinden;817921]Both burn thru the battery charge in about 3 hours. Both are a disappointment compared to other PDAs I've owned. The WM Treo rocked. The iBad is a large touch with a bad OS, a bad price, and a bad lack of ports. Nothing about it makes me say wow, especially after owning 2 disppointing, Apple controlled devices that are mini-iBads.

iPod Touch beats any other eReader I've used, including my PDAs. I just pre-ordered the iPad. It's OS looks to rock, battery life 10 hrs or greater....why not?

They're selling at > 20,000 hr at this point.

Of course - the fact that it sells a lot is an absolute guarantee of quality. I mean, Dan Brown is the best writer in the world, The Sun is the best newspaper in the UK and X Factor is a masterpiece of television! Get real
