When I see the title "War on the Margins", I think of my 8th grade Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Walker, who constantly corrected us on only writing between the red lines on our notebook paper. She was very strict about it and spent most of the year drumming it into our heads. I've since come to appreciate her hard work when teaching my own students. They may not have been the best writers in the 5th grade world but their hand written papers looked really good.

We're having a bit of fun at work right now. Some people were messing around with someone else's PC (the team is young and rather playful ) when suddenly there was a sharp crack and it started burning We're still laughing, except for the guy whose PC is out of commission.

reminds me of when we received our very first PC in the office. young lassie was moving over the keys and pressing them every so often (everyone else was watching a movie). on the PC screen came a message, the lassie asked the senior guy, shall I press "yes" or "no" ...... Senior guy looks up, reads message and says "yes" .


gulp ...



it took me 5 hours of the remainder of the shift to pick up the pieces.....




you guess .... the message was ..... "format c:?" .....

Try making a screenshot of the desktop, placing it as desktop background, hiding the icons and pulling the taskbar down (must be unlocked). Very evil this one, most people need 3+ restarts until they get it.
More friendly version is, if you turn the autohide function of the taskbar instead of pulling it down. Or leaving the cursor on the shot, etc, etc.
