LPI exams aren't limited to North America, but they are limited to PearsonVUE testing centers and candidates are limited to paying in US dollars. Was thinking about getting one but the Red Hat cert is starting to look better (less expensive and more recognizable).

I had to go to work today without waking up in a hot shower and a good cup of tea...

Looks like even the power cables (which are in the ground over here) can't stand this winter... One cable broke (probably due to the expansion of the ground due to freezing...) and we were without power since 2 in the morning... I just hope we'll have power back before the freezer de-freezes completely...

That would be the Culicoides Impuctatus.... ( You missed it ! - it's that small ! )

It is worth keeping midges in perspective. They've been a part of life in the Highlands for centuries, and are only likely to depart if the climate changes so much that the country itself becomes a radically different place. And it's the country you come to the Highlands to see. Also bear in mind that the midges serve a useful purpose in controlling the role and impact of man in Scotland. Without them Scotland would be a different and a lesser place...

Mosquitoes suck. Now spiders; some of those fellows are handy to have around. I used to grab jumping spiders whenever I found them outside the house and bring them indoors. Great roach and pest control there! I no longer do that because they frighten my wife. Sheesh! She even got mad the last time we had a rodent problem and I let a kingsnake loose in the house.

Women! Sometimes there's just no pleasing them!

I'm procrastinating about going to the paint shop. I'm starting a whole day of finishing (polishing), shooting (atomizing) polyurethane. The shop doors need to be opened with air circulation at maximum.

Its 0 C. out there!!! Brrrrr!!!

Gloves and thick clothing are too bulky as they accidentally touch and smear fresh finish... So I have to "freeze it" out. Luckily I can warm up in the adjacent office between coats of finish...
