Odds are there will be no problem.

I just received an email with UPS tracking info. The reader was shipped 24 hours after my order.

BrassMonkey, so sorry to hear that your package came without the stylus. That must be frustrating.

Yep. It's not like you can go to the local store and get it replaced. Device looks cool though and the screen is nice. Just wish I could get it past the calibration screen. hopefully they rectify this without too much aggravation.
I'm sure you will enjoy yours.

Yes, BeBook Neo has WACOM as well. So do the the older iRex units: iRex iLiad and iRex 1000S.
I don't think, the WACOM statement is true.
So far, all combinations I've tried have been working:

iRex 1000S stylus for iRex 800 = working
BeBook Neo stylus for iRex 800 = working
iRex 800 stylus for BeBook Neo = working

That raises an interesting question. I have also heard that Bebook doesn't use the original WACOM screen, but a local copy. Since I assume that the basic technology is the same, why shouldn't the styli work interchangeably?

My theory: It's all about the technology = electromagnetic resonance.
Whether it's a WACOM tablet or whatever doesn't seem to matter, the technological principle remains the same.
On WACOM tablets, various pens for different jobs are recognised. But here, for eBook readers, it's way easier. Just the coordinates of the pressure point have to be recognised.

Quote from BeBook's website: "The Neo features the latest WACOM touchpanel technology, which provides a very fast and more natural reading experience. The touch screen allows you to use your BeBook Neo for sketching, annotations and text mark-up; ideal for educational and business purposes"

BrassMonkey,
did you use notepad to edit the dr.ini file? This could change the line breaks formatting of that file. If so, try to use wordpad to edit the dr.ini file, that should work better. The best way to make sure the device reads its settings from the (new) dr.ini is by resetting the device, by holding the on/off switch to the left until the green led goes off. Perhaps that could do the trick...

It depends, there are several different types of Wacom tablets, and they're not all compatible with each other. The iRex devices specifically use the "Penabled tablet" brand from Wacom (as opposed to Bamboo, Cintiq, etc). See here:

Good info Shaggy. Do you think that any of the pens on that page will work with DR800SG. Or can you point out which ones will. I am sure most folks will want a backup stylus and ordering from wacom will be much less expensive than a replacement from IREX if you live in US. Ends up the shipping on the basic stylus more than doubles the price - at least until local stores stock accessories.

My understanding is that any of the ones on that page that say "Penabled tablet" in the product name would work, but I have not confirmed that personally.

For example:
https://direct.wacom.com/stores/5/Pe..._P1577C159.cfm

I don't know if the DR800 will support the eraser or switch functions that some of them have, but that shouldn't stop the pen itself from working.

Any "penabled" stylus will work. Both Irex and Onyx use actual Wacom sourced digitizers.

Brass Monkey- I meant ill just send you one no need to purchase. I have a couple laying about in case someone loses one.

Pauli - you made my day. Ends up I missed the semicolon at the end of the line. Got passed the calibration screen. Thanks again!
