Currently I am reading Elric: the Stealer of Souls by Michael Moorcock. Since getting the Kindle, I have been trying to update my Moorcock collection. It is always fun to reread an old favorite.

I'm about halfway through Aunt Dimity's Death. If I hadn't known before reading it that it's supposedly in the "mystery" genre, I wouldn't have guessed it by what's happened so far in the story. It's not what I was expecting, but in this case that's a good thing as it's keeping me guessing what will happen next!

My question on seeing the trailer was what did Helena Bonham Carter ever do to become the leading actress for all wild haired, crazy eyed, insanely homicidal female roles? She was a bit peevish in A Room with a View but who knew the turn her career was about to take.

Love, love, love Aunt Dimity. The first two are by far the best in the series, IMHO.

Are you reading this in paperback? I can't find an ebook version, but the rest of the Aunt Dimity books are available for Kindle.

I'm listening to an audiobook from NLS. I can't find a commercial ebook or audiobook for this one. I wonder why the rights were granted to publish ebook versions of every book in the series except the first one.

I'm not familiar with her, as I don't watch that many movies, but the photos of her as the Red Queen are awesome!

In her twenty year career she has played:
1. The evil mad homicidal servant of Voldemort (Bellatrix Lestrange) in the Harry Potter series.
2. The evil mad homicidal pie making lover of Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd.
3. The voice of the corpse bride in Tim Burton's Corpse Bride.
4. The witch in Big Fish.
5. Anne Boleyn in Henry VIII
6. A character in the TV series Carnivale
7. Morgan le Fay in an adaptation of Merlin
8. Margaret in Margaret's Museum (trust me when I say this fits)
9. Ophelia in Hamlet

Okay, there have been other roles too - she has actually been in a lot of films given the length of her career although since her early days of EM Forster and other historicals she has rarely been the lead. She does have a very high ratio of criminally insane roles though. Wonder if she is in Shutter Island

She shacked up with this weird director and got juicy parts in his movies?

In other news, I'm reading Under the Dome. It's been a long time since I've found a King book interesting, but the premise was interesting and I'm about 200 pages in and the story's still holding. Perhaps there's hope.

I'm also almost finished with Wolf Hall, I got a physical copy for Xmas which I've been savoring. I'm pretty sure it will be the best book I read this year, it's a barely fictionalized account of the life of Thomas Cromwell

Well, that does explain a lot...didn't know that. Still, chicken or egg?
